This is the worst police department I have encountered. Coming from a guy with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Juctice. The amount of unprofessionalism I saw during a previous traffic stop went against every ethical and moral value I learned while in school. This police department should be ashamed of the way they treat the people of Snellville. Officers that I will not mention deserve to be punished for their lack of moral and ethics. Overall an awful police department. Avoid Snellville if possible.
Awhile back I drove without a permit to work and I accidentally hit my co-workers car because I parked too close and I could see the white lane in the mirror. When the officer came to check the situation I was nervous because I only had a permit and was afraid that he would suspend my permit and also my drivers test was the next day. I am so grateful that the officer gave me a pass and i didn’t drive again until I passed the test the following day. I can’t remember the officers name but I am truly grateful for a very empathetic PD! I have a little suprise for New Years for the Snellville PD.
We had potential fraudulent activity identity theft through the mail. I called in as a non-emergency to see if they had any suggestions and, more so to make note should neighbors on our street have similar reports. The person who took the call was professional and helpful and did not make me feel like I was wasting their time. She sent an Officer to take a report. He showed up less than 10 minutes later, asked all the right questions - and again, made me feel like we did the right thing. He even suggested some excellent resources to help us through the situation. THANK YOU, Snellville PD!
I was coming from east atlanta to pic up a police report that I needed for insurance purposes. I called to be sure of the 5:00pm closing time and let the lady on the phone know I was 2 minutes away. I got to the station and the first door was open but they had locked the second door at 4:49 I had driven 40 minutes for nuthing. All I want is for the Snellville Police department to either say we close at 4:45 Or actually lock your doors at 5:00pm. Its better to tell the truth than to annyoy the people you are suppose to be serving.
I needed to do a review on the Gwinnett Co. Police Department there was an officer Officer Ogen I felt that went above and beyond the call of duty to help a young man that is disabled and homeless in front of a gas station near my home. He was genuinely concern and trying to find a place for the young man to go after he was put out on the streets. Officer Ogen I hope I spelled your name correct your awesome! Seeing the police take an interest in a young man with all the tension that's going on around us is refreshing. Thank you for renewing my faith in the justice system
Called at 4:45pm to see what time they we open until. They said 5:00. When I arrived at 4:55 there was a gentleman standing outside of the door saying that the door was locked. He was holding a baby. I also had my 2 young kids with me. Called again and someone answered the phobe I'm assuming it was same gentleman that I spoke with before and he said they closed at 5. I promptly told him it was not 5 yet and he said that according to his clock it was 5. I could see a large TV screen inside the lobby that had the time listed and it clearly said 4:58. I was very disappointed by this because I obviously called to check what time they closed, rushed through traffic, got both my young kids out of the car only to be locked out and told that they were already closed. The gentleman knew we were standing at the door with kids yet he showed no concern or reference for is. You think that the police department would have some grace when they are trying to protect and serve.
Called the non-emergency number at 4:25 a.m. December 12th there was a tremor that shook my entire home for 10 to 12 seconds there is no construction in the area nothing in terms of power companies working and being a responsible and concerned citizen and understanding that Georgia does have seismic activity as early as December 11th in North Georgia I called for assistance. The person who answered the phone was nonchalant uncaring and not concerned at all simply stating they didn't have the equipment to gauge seismic activity. Unhelpful, unconcerned and useless. I will not ever call the non-emergency number again with this type of Public Service as an example.
Officer M. Mayfield positioned himself at the old police dept on Springdale clocking citizens coming down hill from 124 and issuing speeding tickets. When I asked officer Mayfield why would you cite someone coming downhill for speeding, he said that's what breaks are for. Velocity increases down hill and I feel that's entrapment; there has to be a better use of my tax dollars and a different way to increase revenue for the city
Lenora Church Road looked like a race car track this morning. Someone is going to get hurt from all the reckless driving going on in Snellville.
I have been pulled over 7 minutes away from my house multiple times by Snellville PD. They will search your car without probable cause. If you live in the area they will make a name to pull you over just to keep you in the court system.
