We have a beautiful 88 lbs Berner whom we left at Snug for a month for training. He is a very playful dog and gets easily excited outdoors when walking, around people and other dogs. Being a big dog, it was difficult to control his excitement and make him listen to commands. Samantha, his trainer at Snug did an exceptional job on him! She trained him to heel and walk, listen to commands without distractions. All this, while giving him lots of attention and love…he absolutely loves Samantha and we are so appreciative of how she has transformed our dog. He hasn’t lost his personality, still very playful but at the same time follows commands when he has to! Thank you Samantha!!
We took our 2 small dogs for the 21-day training. The results were superb and all that we hoped although the path there I think was a bit rocky from a customer service perspective. They were quick to take our money, book us then radio silence. We never received a reminder of our upcoming drop off. I get more reminders from my dentist than Snug. So we just showed up and I guess due to COVID, we could only meet in the parking lot. We never got to go inside. Kind of a cold feeling. The contract says they will email you every 7 days with a brief update and a photo. We didn't hear anything until day 9 and it was a lack luster email. Didn't really give us a sense that our fur babies were being loved and doing well. The contract also states that the pups will stay longer if needed at no cost to meet their goals, we never heard anything after the #3 email update 7 days prior so we assumed we could pick them up. Not the case, I called and asked to speak to manager, she wasn't very helpful. Said sorry and that she would let me know by the end of the day. no call. We had taken the day off to do this pick up since they said the "discharge" was 1 hour long and the MOST important part. Got an email from the trainer the next day, said she was too booked up for us to pick up so we could come Friday. Kind of a lame reason to not be able to pick up, we miss our dogs and don't want them kenneled any longer than necessary additional 4 days. The next day the office called to say that the trainer had to leave unexpectedly and we could come that day. Any who, I think they could probably up their game a bit with an app, or auto reminders or more updates than 3 over 21 days.... IG posts? Nevertheless, our dogs are hella obedient and we're thankful.
Took my dog to snug for training and board. He was there for about a week and a half when we got the call that he has pneumonia and that we have to pick him up and take him to the emergency vet right away. Why did they not notify us that he was sick BEFORE it turned life threatening. This was 100% THEIR fault. When we picked him up, we told them that he obviously would never be returning. We sent him with his bed, a blanket and his favorite toy that he depends on. They only returned his bed to us. When asked where his blanket and toy were, they took 5+ minutes to search for it while we were waiting with our sick dog. This search meant that they never gave him his things that we specifically insisted upon him having. I DO NOT RECOMMEND sending your dog here. He is still sick in the vet hospital and who knows what will end up happening to him due to their poor care.
My sister had to put down her beloved dog of 15 years. Everybody there were so kind to us. They explained everything that was going to happen. The entire staff just made a really difficult situation a little easier.
There are not enough words to express how happy we are with Snug, the staff and especially our trainer David Culp. He turned our rescued wild child into a completely well trained service dog. He worked with us every step of the way and was always available to us when we had questions and concerns. The entire staff is awesome and are always happy to see Riley when we come back for follow up training. Riley loves going back to see Dave as well. Thank you Dave and Snug for giving us the most amazing experience ever! I wish I could give them more than five stars!
Our pup went through the full eight week training course here and came out a different and far better dog! She went in a ball of anxiety, distractions, and aggression and came out with a knowledge of commands both on and off leash, far better house manners and behavior in general. Plus we now have a safe and reliable place to board her when we're out of town. Everyone at Snug always greets her and welcomes her when she comes back to visit, and have been supportive in making sure we enforce her ongoing training. Growing up, I did a lot of volunteer work with working dogs, and I've seen tons of dog training styles and techniques as a result. Snug impressed the heck out of me between their trainers' knowledge, their confidence, and patience. They are AMAZING.
