The change machine took my money. The vacuum machine took my money. I called the first number on the door because it says if you have problems, call ***-***-**** only to be told by the guy that answered the call "did I not know it's a self service car wash" what kind of customer service is that? Their prices are outrageous, only because they know they are the only car wash left in town. I'd rather spend the gas it takes to drive the 20 miles to Clovis to give my money to a car wash who cares about their customers.
Very little water pressure and the attendsnt won't let me wash it again in the first bay which he says is the only one that works..
Edit: CAUTION Not only do the persons that are responsible for upkeep and maintenance RARELY REPLENISH THE CHEMS NEEDED TO CLEAN THE GOOD PEOPLE OF PORTALES'S VEHICLES, when not maintained properly, it can be very DANGEROUS. The high pressure hose ruptured at the position I was holding it, while I was moving around to the other side of my car. The pressure was so high that it RIPPED the FLESH BETWEEN MY PINKY and INDEX fingers CAUSING ME TO DROP THE WAND. WATER and BLOOD went everywhere as the hose whipped WILDLY back and forth DEEPLY SCRATCHING MY SHELBY GT500. I attempted to show the attendant, but he shrugged his shoulders when I showed him the damage to my car, my hand and the hose, luckily I had a first aid kit in the car. I needed stitches but opted to use butterfly bandages instead. Best in town? Only real carwash and best isn't the word I would use on a good day. Long time unsatisfied cutomer, so here's a run down. SOAPY SPRINGS Portales rarely has chemicals such as soap, pre-rinse, tire cleaner working properly, maybe 1 out of 5 times all the settings will work properly. The Spot Free Rinse used to work 1/2 the time, but over the last 6 months, it has worked 3 times out of 20+ times max. Loose hose fittings overhead leak Chemicals on your vehicle AFTER your all finished from other vehicles /booths. When you speak to attendants they used to be polite in saying that there are plans to fix it again soon 10+ Years and counting. Their "Soapy Springs" in Clovis are great, almost everytime, everything works, but there is lots of competition there, in Clovis, go figure. I'd be good with the price going up 50 cents IF THEY INVESTED IN DEPENDABLE EQUIPMENT AND POLITE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Good luck washing your car here. At least now you know what to expect. Ps, be aware the save 2 panhandlers are always there it seems, and they are real cozy with the staff it seems.
The auto bays are ok... lack drying time.However, tried using the manual bays and the first one never turned on after swiping my card, yet I got billed for 17 bucks! The second bay, stopped after 6 minutes got charged 10 bucks, would read my card to turn back on. Used a different card to finishing rinsing. Only about 3-4 minutes... GOT CHARGED ANOTHER 10 BUCKS!
Do not use vacuums they won't turn on after putting quarters in. There number isn't working. I recommend a better car wash. Plus no one here to help if you need it. Don't waste your money.
Both automatic car washes did an okay job, however, every time I go the guy in the corvette comes and asks if I’ve ever taken my car through Midsize SUV with a roof rack. I’m assuming he was concerned about the roof rack. I have been through either one several times with no issues, but every time he asks the same question and then stands ominously behind my car as I go through the wash. Every time. My car clearly clears the warning height markers and yet I’m watched creepily the entire time. Either say “no roof racks” or put up signs…please stop being creepy.
Machine ate all of my quarters and wouldn't start. Decided to try my card. Same issue. Started charging my card and nothing was working.
Great the automatic car wash does a great job cleaning your car. The only thing l can think they could do is give a little bit more time on the vacuum for what you pay for.
Do not use your card here. Card was ran for $15. Car wash was never able to be used. Contacted office. They said I have to contact the bank to dispute it and there is nothing they can do about it.
Excellent & safe car washes! Safe meaning you don't have to worry about rocks flying up & damaging your vehicle. We like to use the automated ones that you can use a credit card to get the works! Really appreciate the spot free rinse! Very nice place & well maintained!
