The mission of the Socorro Public Library is to meet the educational, cultural, and recreational needs of local residents.
Our staff provides services and programs for area children and adults which encourage reading, learning and literacy: weekly reading; and crafts projects for pre-schoolers in Children's Story Hour; a program called "Reading is Fundamental" which distributes books to Socorro children in Kindergarten through third grade; and our summer reading incentive program. We also provide wireless access to the internet, ten public computer work stations, and access to a wide variety of resources through the reference desk. We do our best to provide our patrons with modern library materials in a variety of formats.
