In the vast growing healthcare field we saw a need for coders. Supply and demand has increased the need for certified coders to process complex coding and billing regulations by insurance payors. Soerries Coding & Billing Institute (SCBI) recognized a weakness in education in the area of coding and billing. We also found that there was a weakness in the training of coders. SCBI has developed a classroom environment that provides quality hands-on training with a live instructor coupled with a four week internship. The goals of the internship is to allow the coding student to have hands-on exposure with Electronic Medical Records, application of coding skills learned, data entry and total overall confidence in their new or renewed skills. We want the SCBI student to leave the program ready to work.
