Superb ambiance. The food is tasty. A bit overpriced but overall was great. The guacamole cart is great. They come and make it in front of you.Food: 4/5
This place has been on my bookmarked list for awhile and many Yelpers have told me about it so I was excited to go. This is definitely one of the more popular Mexican food spots in the valley hence the long wait times. I put myself on the waitlist from home before driving over when I saw it was a 30 minute wait. When I arrived half an hour later they said it would still be another 20 minutes. I knew it would be busy because it was Friday night dinner. I definitely recommend getting on the waitlist as soon as possible because the people in line behind me were told an hour and a half wait, so do not eat here if you are in a rush. I shared with my girlfriend the shrimp ceviche, nachos, and pork sopes. They are popular for their table side guacamole that you can order as an appetizer for $14. Our waitress Paula was very nice and helped us make some choices for our meal. They have indoor and outdoor dining. No parking lot but they have valet parking behind or you can find metered street parking. Definitely on a busy street so plan to walk a little if you park further away.
For many years I have driven past this restaurant, never thought of visiting. Now I regret that I have really missed great food all these years. Great ambience , very friendly staff. I would recommend reservations on weekends.Food: 5/5
This was our first time here, and we were seated immediately. The staff was very attentive, and the service was excellent. There were a variety of options on the menu, and the food was delicious. They make a delicious guacamole table side. I had the Mole Poblano with shredded chicken, which was very good. We will definitely return!!Food: 5/5
Best Mexican spot so far. Salsa was med spicy but liked it. I asked for some spicy chicken dish. Server suggested Pechuga plate that isn’t spicy but said to add side dish with grilled onions and chillies. I ordered it and can’t express in words but that dish itself was so delicious and those chillies added a good spicy kick for someone like me who eats crazy spicy food.
The only two downsides here are it is incredibly loud and the guacamole is way too expensive it is an experience. The service is friendly and fast. We can definitely recommend the house special but you better be hungry for this.Food: 5/5
We sat at the bar, so we didn't have to wait to be seated, which they estimated to be about 45 minutes on a weekday. I never complain about wait times because I think it's usually a testament to how good the food must be. The service was slightly less than average. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I assumed all Mexican restaurants kept your chips and salsa coming. The food came out quickly and was really good. They have the best rice I've ever eaten in my life! The beef tamale was a little dry, and thinking back, I would've added pico to my beef taco, but it was still good as well. The refried beans were just your average refried beans. It was a bit crowded but not uncomfortably so. The restaurant itself is festively decorated with some unexpected items. I love Mexican food, so I l'm sure I'll be back.
This place is one of the best homely, slightly Americanized Mexican cuisine in the San Fernando Valley. Surprisingly, this place completely outshines its sister restaurants. Food is always served fresh and drinks somewhat flow from the bar. A very good time with friends and/or romantic enough for a date night. Recommend the Molcajete. It is by far the best thing on the menu. But the menu has other people pleasers also. Their grilled chicken is always juicy and never served dry. They do not take reservations, but accepts phone calls to put your name down. Which is recommended due to there always being a line to dine in. Service isn't the greatest. Could be due to covid staffing issues. I like the upbeat atmosphere of this place but sometimes, it can be a bit much. Not a fan of yelling across the table to keep the conversation going. If you're on a romantic date, I recommend sitting on the same side. Regardless, I'm a repeat customer.
Overrated. Chips are so greasy, salsa meh, service friendly but brought us the wrong food and don’t order the house margarita unless you like syrup..it’s premixed and cheap tequila. Order it hand made like comparable restaurants already do automatically. Won’t come back here. Disappointing.
They make Guac right in front of you!!!!! So fresh!!! I could feel the ingredients were fresh and high quality. Food itself was ok but I loved the interior and service. It felt like I was on vacation.Food: 5/5
