Trying to get answers on why they changed my mom's address to have her be able to vote out of state. She has lived here since 1976. I called and asked and was told they googled her. Found a NC address that was her family relation, thank goodness. I inquired about it. They made me feel I should just let it go. Red flags for me, elderly watch your identity....
Why does Solon township change residents addresses without permission? And why are they using Google to falsify addresses?
Grateful the Twp. Hall makes public bathrooms available for those of us hiking past on the North Country Trail. If you contact them, they might permit you to use their parking lot to stage your hike either direction.
I live right next to it, the trails aren't maintained, but the pavilion is nice. Been inside the building a few times, kinda boring. But otherwise not terrible. Got a cool parking lot, I guess. I ride my bike there often. Good for skateboards and roller skates/blades. Voting is often held there too.
I own a construction company and pull permits on a regular basis. I must say that filing for a permit at Solon Township has to rate as one of the worst townships I have worked with. First off, I personally stopped in at the office and filled out the paperwork on a wed. The next week I called to see if my permit was ready. I was told they had lost my paperwork and needed to refile. Lucky me, I was able to fax it since it is a good drive from Grand Rapids. They had the permit ready for pick up on wed and called to let me know and gave me the price so I could bring a check. I sent the office girl to pick it up, only to find out that a couple of the numbers had gotten switched around and my check was a little short. You would think that since they messed up my original paperwork they would cut me a little slack and let me send a check for the balance. Nope. They would not release the permit. So office girl left empty handed and had to drive back to GR, get a new check and drive all the way back, because they are closed on thurs and friday, so had to do it that day or wait till the following week. And the kicker, the permit was not even filled out right! Not sure how their customer service for residents are, but for builders pulling permits on behalf of the residents, less than stellar.
Great people to work with when building a new home.
Just renting out the hall for a get together, at a fair rental price for the Township residents too....
