We just stopped in for one night, beautiful grounds. When we arrived office was closed but we had a map with our site number 84…many empty sites but 84 was occupied? So we just pulled into another site and of course staff was moving trailers to the spot we took. They were nice but we felt bad so we packed up early to make it easier for them.
Payed for 4 nights in a cabin and only stayed 3. beds were soooo uncomfortable for starters, campsite has alot of rules, can’t even drink a beer on your own campsite. Not 420 friendly. Bathrooms are a far walk, especially in the night. Cabin was full of webs, I know bugs are a thing with camping, but thought cabins would be clean.. not blinds and everything full of spider webs. Also found someone’s hat in the bed, so clearly cabin wasn’t even slightly cleaned Never have I paid for something and left early. I was glad we didn’t travel to far from home for this one . I must say parts of the property was really beautiful but it was really really uncomfortable.
Fantastic campground! It's a new find for us but we've gone the last two weekends! Nice Beach for the kids! Staff is very friendly, especially the ladies in the trading post. They were very sweet and patient with all the kids we had with us. Zip line, small archery range, large playground is great for the kids. Beautiful private lake and they do offer small boat rentals. They also offer RV storage in the back! Showers and restrooms are very clean, along with all the sites and public areas. All the campsites are on nice grass and decent dirt road lanes and have nice fire pits with covers to protect against rain. Definitely recommend this campground
I'm on a cross country motorcycle trip. I needed a tent spot to sleep. For a few bucks more I got a hotel. I understand they have a lot to offer but all I wanted was a place to sleep.
Great campground. It has everything you could want in a family friendly campground. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful campground and lake. Workers are great. Well be back again
We live in central Indiana and wanted to spend our Labor Day weekend camping somewhere away from home that we have never been to get away from it all. We decided to rent an RV and travel the 4 hours to Somerset Beach Campground. It was one of the most enjoyable camping trips we have ever had with two adults and two kids aged six and eight. Everyone there was so welcoming and so helpful. We have never used an RV and they guided us in how to set our campsite up and what the best way for our RV to be facing was. We did not have a long enough extension cord to plug the RV into the power source so one of the managers, Chuck, gave us an extension cord to borrow for the duration of our trip. He had someone bring it out to us to our campsite immediately and we were able to hook up properly. We stayed at campsite 21 and I can’t imagine a better spot. We were close to the firewood, which was only $4 for a whole wheelbarrow full, close to a primitive restroom clean, close to large fields of grass for playing and a nice short 10 minute relaxing walk to the beach, zip line, and the playground. Of course with it being Labor Day weekend it was packed full of people, however, everyone kept to themselves and were very quiet and private. There was no partying, no loud campers and it was very enjoyable and relaxing. Another thing great about this is it is Christian-based and everyone is so friendly and if you do have to pay for anything it is at very modest prices. Boat rentals, ice cream, food, snacks, almost everything seem to be less than $5. Our kids rode the zip line and it was $7 a person. This is extremely worth it as the kids had a blast, however, be aware you need to pay attention to the daily itinerary as you have to sign up the day prior to the zip line being open. I want to thank Chuck and his crew for having such a positive impact on our trip—it has caused me to write this review which I NEVER do. We are highly considering coming up again next time even if it is a 4 hour drive.
This has been a fabulous family camping experience. I can't speak for the weekend activities yet but I can say the bathrooms are clean and up to stock in supplies. Trails are perfect for walking and biking. The beach has enough space for all and the water is clear compared to other lakes in the area. They have a spot on the lake to put our paddle boat and kayaks. Or a boat shack to rent paddle boats and kayaks. They have a fishing dock to fish from as well. My kids 3yo and 7yo loved the fishing and caught quite a few fish. The play area had more than enough to do for all ages to enjoy and they even have a fenced toddler playground. They also have a "trading post" shack right on the beach to purchase snacks and drinks. So far the one and only thing I found to be of inconvenience has been that they don't sell fire wood at the campground. Other than that minor detail I've absolutely loved our stay so far.
We had an awesome time camping this past weekend! It was my granddaughter's age 4 first time camping and she had so much fun! She loved the playground and caught her first fish off of the dock. She loved swimming and playing in the sand. My niece and youngest son did the zipline and said it was awesome! With everything going on with Covid everyone practiced social distancing and there was plenty of space for everyone, no problems. We did have an issue with the electrical box the first night, but I called the office and left a message and the next morning a maintenance guy came to our site and had the issue fixed in 15 minutes. I was very impressed with their response concerning the issue and we never had a problem with it after that. I would highly recommend this campground and we will definitely be back!
The fam attended a group camping experience with our church this weekend, and it was a blast. The focus of our stay there was group mingling so we didn't participate in most of what the campground has to offer and lemme tell ya, the list is long. The beach was wonderful, there's archery, a zipline, shady trails, sports, disc golf and more. The group camp area was moderately open suited for RV and camper owners, but the other areas offered some nice shady wood-backed sites. The wife and I both agreed it would be nice to come back and stay at one of those. Overall not super crowded and clean facilities. Nice gift shop employees as well!
