I had the catfish dinner with rice and gravy, collards, potato salad and corn bread. Absolutely DELICIOUS! My mom had the dark chicken with yams, string beans and potato salad. All dinners come with 3 sides and a fried piece of corn bread. Everything tasted ssssooo GGGOODDD!! I'm convinced you can't go wrong with any dish here. The 2 young ladies at the front gave great service! I also liked the pictures on the wall of celebrities that have visited here.
We went their last year to our New Years Eve take-out dinner while on vacation. The food was great. True soul food right down to the hot water cornbread :- We will return on our next trip out to Vegas.
I called ahead to make reservations but there were not necessary. We were able to walk in and be seated. Christina our awesome wait staff was most knowledgeable about the whole menu and myself being Vegan she helped me with what to order. My whole meal was amazing!!!
This is my second time I've been to this restaurant in a week. My boyfriend's mom wanted to take me for my birthday anywhere in Las Vegas and I choose to come back to the Soul Food Cafe the atmosphere is fantastic they always playing beautiful music and the food is fabulous. If you're looking for good service, smiling faces, and great authentic soul food then I highly recommend this place. Ask for Miss Pearl she always has a smile on her face and she'll give you great service.
I've had the chicken and waffles and the cat fish. Both are delicious. Start off with cornbread pancakes! Awesome!!
It was not the best experience that I was hoping for. As soon as we came in, the server announced that only cash would be accepted. When she came to the table, she brought plastic silverware in the package and when our food order arrived it was in Styrofoam. If it was a takeout, fine, but we were eating in and expected real silverware and plates. We ordered catfish and greens and they were good. But the mac and cheese was too soft and soupy which was very disappointing. And the cornbread came as flat as a pancake with barely a taste of cornbread. They even charge you for bottled water. So, we won't be returning.
Went for lunch. Had grilled chicken with bell peppers & onions, black-eyed peas & fried okra. Everything was pre-seasoned. I truly enjoyed it. It also came with cornbread that looks like a pancake. For dessert, I had a small, homemade peach cobbler. Sooo good. I also had a can of diet coke. The whole bill was $32.96. Price a little high, but the food was worth it. The waitress, Pearl, was great. I do plan on going back.
Everything was good. It was a group of 4. Catfish, ribs, red snapper, rice & gravy, black eye peas, mac & cheese and the list goes on. My favorite was fried okra. We will be back to try peach cobbler and the oxtails next time.
Mac and cheese was mushy , I prefer more seasoning with these being Soul Food, Greens where good but everything else needed more seasoning and the Mac and cheese was to mushy should consider a different recipe . Ribs didn’t have no type of flavor prefer dry rub first then with sauce!!
Some of the worse customer service I've ever experienced. Went there to pick up food for a door dash delivery and as I entered the door. I checked my phone to see the name of the order I would be picking up, the waiter rudely asks multiple times, "who is it for", after I told her give me one moment so the app would update and give me the name, she pouted as one of her co-workers stated, "he stated to give him a minute." As i gave her the name for the order she walked to pick up the order with an attitude and when she handed me the bag she did not reply with a thank you or any hospitable verbiage. It angered me, i went to my car and wanted to drive off but I had to go back in the restaurant and speak my mind and I rarely get out of character but the energy here is detrimental.
