Large campsites on the bluff, overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Walk or bike to nearby groceries, restaurants, and short drive to attractions. Most have no hook ups. Dump station on site. Dirt pads, asphalt road. Most sites are close to level. Our favorite. A few too many people allow their dogs off leash.
We love this campground! Right on the beach, tucked along the 101. Great walking, sandy beach below the bluffs, eateries in walking distance 2 miles or less. Excellent bike path access. No hook-ups in our "premium" ocean side campsite, but there are on-site bathrooms, showers, and dump stations. Very low key, ocean listening, seagulls and pelicans, read a book and chill with cold beverages kind of place...
My grandparents started coming here for a week every year, which turned into a family reunion event for all the generations of us that still keep the tradition alive.. camping on the bluff, beachfront views, beach access all day.. and shopping close at hand.. what more can you ask for..
Great beach, but strong rip current. Water is not very safe for small kids since beach is at a sharp slope. Sand play for kids is great. All day parking is $10.
First time out, and we had a fantastic time with the family. Beautiful sunset views every night. Perfect beach entrance stairs along Cliffside campsites. Very family oriented site, and I had lots of fun riding bikes up and down the camp! Will book again ASAP. Restrooms: Coin Showers Clean facilities Dog-friendliness: Dogs all over!!! But quite for the most part.
Stayed here two nights. Excellent place to park and enjoy the sunset to sunrise time. Bathrooms, shower, park store, restaurant/bar. This place is booked full most of the time so I was lucky to get a spot at all. The first night I was in a non beach view for $50 and it was enjoyable. The second night I got lucky and moved to a beach view for $70. Well worth the extra $20.
Love camping here. My kids don't like the lack of sand, but had a great time finding shells in the rocks. Love the oceanfront sites.
There’s not a lot of shade so bring shade tents! But besides that the campground is nice. On the bluff with steep stairs down to beach. Bathrooms have token operated showers and were fairly clean. Bring your own soap. :
We had an amazing camping trip at South Carlsbad State Beach! We were able to take take in the stunning views of the sunset over the ocean, and the nearby trails were great for exploring. The staff was very friendly, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The only issue we had was that, sadly, there was some trash which blew into our campground from other RVers. Despite this, we would definitely recommend this campground to anyone looking for a great spot to stay in the area!
Very nice camp site by the beach with clean flushing toilet and hot water shower. Shower is 50 cent per token for 2 minutes. You can shower for longer time by putting more tokens. One outside sink you can use to wash meat/veggie for barbecue
