Hispanic or Latino of any race were 34.8% of the population.There were 1,517 households out of which 31.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.2% were married couples living together, 17.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.3% were non-families. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.28.In the village, the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18. The median age was 36.4 years. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 98.9 females.In 2000, the population density was 2,586.1 people per square mile (995.3/km²), and there were 1,628 housing units at an average density of 1,060.5 per square mile (408.2/km²).
