We keep coming back to South City Kitchen over the years. The food and service are consistently good and worth the money spent. The fried chicken is always good and we loved the fried green tomatoes. Tonight was our first time having the creamed corn and it's a nice indulgence. Kid-friendliness: They have a few choices on their childrens menu. Catfish is an uncommon find on a kids menu. Parking: Part of the lot is self park and on busy days there is often a valet area.
Love South City Kitchen! This is my second time - first visit was the midtown location. We decided to try the newer menu items - Carolina Crab Fried Rice and Brisket Benedict and loved both! The flavor and texture combinations were outstanding. The poinsettia cranberry mimosa was delicious also. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back!
First time in 4 years since Covid going back to South City Kitchen. They have not lost a step! Their signature dish is Fried Chicken and it is the most moist, flavorful chicken that I’ve ever had. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The collards and potatoes were also great. Hubby had the Nashville Hot Fish and be warned, it is HOT! Suggest getting the hot sauce on the side. Appetizer was the Boudin fritter also quite spicy with a nice side salad of arugula and pickled onions. Took a minute to get our drinks. Had a glass of Cabernet and a Moscow Mule. The dessert was a pleasant surprise. Chocolate Chess Pie with house made whipped cream. Can’t wait to go back. Wish they were open for lunch!!!
I had the pleasure of dining out here for my Aunts Birthday Dinner. The 5 of us had excellent service. The waiter was kind and very friendly. The food was delicious from the appetizers to the main courses. Try the Fried Green Tomotoes, Pimento Cheese, Smothered Chicken Liver and BBQ Shrimp Apps. I dont have the exact names to reflect but they all were soooo goooood! My main course was their popular Fried Chicken with mas potatoes and collard greens. Very good as well, but they could work on those greens a bit. My family said their Lamp Chops were killin it! The waiter was so thoughtful and brought my Aunt a complimentary dessert to top a very nice BDay Dinner. Definitely worth the experience and good eats!
Try get in when they open at 11am on Sunday for brunch. The parking situation can be challenging otherwise. Food delicious & exactly what you’d expect at a Southern establishment in Atlanta. Was surprised to see this classified as Vinings… as on other side of highway closer to Smyrna. Service was good. Dress code was varied - Most people seemed to make an effort.
We enjoyed the entrees Fried chicken and Hot fried catfish ALOT!! I have to say, this was the best fried catfish I've ever had. The menu, however, is pretty small with not that many choices but each dish is a hit that we tried. A little pricey as well, but you're getting quality for sure. We will be back!Dietary restrictions accommodatedNot sure
I went here for brunch on Aug 12th. Our server was just okay, and the person who delivered the food to our table did not know which table nor to whom the food was to be delivered. However, the food was absolutely delicious!!! The Carolina Crab Rice is a new item on the menu. The flavors and textures give your palette a special treat. I also enjoyed the Peach Bellini. However, they only give you half a wine glass .
After an incredibly positive first dining experience and several subsequent less than favorable experiences, I’ve decided a 3-star rating is fair. When it’s good it’s great, when it’s off, it’s an expensive disappointment. Maybe it’s due to our holiday dining dates? Either way, for the premium pricing, it needs to be a lot better all around, every time. Today, the staff vocalized how much they didn’t want to be working, and the food was average at best. Far too much variability and risk for us to continue as patrons of this establishment. It’s such a bummer when the plates don’t look this good. 1st time pictured I sincerely hope management finds a way to reduce variability and ensure a positive experience every visit at this location.
Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had, awesome house cocktails and our service was incredible. The serve had intimate knowledge of all of the dishes and made some great recommendationsFood: 5/5
What a wonderful experience! We had a very, very large group dinner with a pre -planned abbreviated dinner. They did a good job accommodating a tough food allergy. Servers did a great job keeping up...the only 4/5 star is that the space is very noisy.
