Our neighborhood Little Free Library offers a way to share good things to read—favorite books from your childhood or books you would recommend to friends; books that teach, intrigue and engage you. All of us can help by keeping this collection stocked with good reading material.
We are a Little Free Library, Charter #15490, located at the intersection of 36th St SE & 97th Dr SE in Lake Stevens, WA.
For as long as I can remember I have loved to read. When I was in fourth grade I remember my dad getting into an argument with our school librarian because I came home upset over not being able to check out books. Apparently those books were reserved for the fifth and sixth graders. Needless to say my dad solved that problem... Reading should 'never' be discouraged! I still love to read and my husband and I are raising a daughter who loves to read. I first stumbled across a Little Free Library in Everett, WA after leaving a local fruit stand. That was charter #998 and Everett's first Little Free Library. A visit to www.littlefreelibrary.org had me discovering more Little Free Libraries near me. I knew I wanted a Little Free Library in my neighborhood and I knew I wanted to share books with others... So, why not me? When I told my husband I wanted to put a Little Free Library at the top of our driveway he said he would build one... I love him! While researching what size, shape, etc. library we wanted my husband came across a dysfunctional, glass door, mini fridge that was destined for recycling and brought it home. Our first Little Free Library was 'born' on May 18, 2014 and we sent in our charter registration. My daughter finds my addiction to Little Free Libraries and how excited I get when I see a new one amusing, but I am okay with that. We recently updated our Little Free Library and gifted our old one to a fellow book lover and friend. Reading is for everyone and our library motto is... Read. Enjoy. Repeat. Donate.
