Such an amazing facility! The atmosphere is phenomenal. Staff are remarkably kind and helpful. My father is thriving here. All his needs are being met in a timely manner. The facility stays clean and fresh. When a facility truly cares about their residents and staff it really shows. I would recommend 100%!!!
My experience with the staff was great, they were presented with a VERY difficult situation that perhaps they should not have had thrust upon them dealing with a dementia patient who's family wanted her in a memory care facility, yet she is still "there" enough to "think" she wanted to be home. It made for a very bad situation and in all that the administration, nurses and staff maintained a level of professionalism whilst dealing with the "caged animal" who on a scale of 1-10 of combativeness while at home would hover around a 4-6 was unfortunately , because of this, turned it up to about 16-21, way off the scale. I would like to commend them for doing the right thing and helping her get home, she has been doing very well since shes been home and is much happier at home. So thanks to Kelly, Shaye, Sugar , Andrea and all the others who helped during this difficult time. I'm sorry you had to deal with what you did, "the beast" is really not that bad if she's not being forced against her will...and thanks for the toenails too....Jess edit; well unfortunately the calm has not lasted, the condition is progressing unfortunately, but still you guys did a great job
My father has been in this facility for 4 years with severe dementia. I appreciate everything staff did for my father. God bless you all.
My 88 yo mother had a spontaneous fracture of her hip resulting in a total hip replacement. As a physician in Marin I was aware of the rehab options in the county but chose to admit her to South Marin due to proximity and reputation. Due to covid-19 she was quarantined in her room for 14 days and as difficult and depressive as that must have been for my mother, the staff took excellent care of her, did the OT and physical therapy in her room while maintaining a strict protocol to keep her and the other residents safe from the risk of covid-19 spread. The food was adequate at best which tends to be the norm for such facilities but they did allow food to be brought in to the kitchen where it was wiped down and then brought in to her room for her enjoyment. When she was finally free of her quarantine the rehabilitation room and hallways were at her disposal to make for a quick and relatively pain free recovery. Overall, South Marin runs a tight ship, takes exemplary care of their patients and has a light and easy going approach to cheer up their residents who are going through difficult times. We were fortunate to experience their care for my mothers recovery. *****
I am giving Kindred South Marin five stars because they took exactly good care of me during a difficult period in my life. During her surgery on my broken leg I picked up a MARSI infection in my bone. I needed to six weeks of intravenous antibiotics to cure it. So I was in there with a broken leg and a need for antibiotics. The physical therapy really helped me with my broken leg and the nursing staff sweetly and efficiently took care of my antibiotic treatment. People here tend to be smiling and quite helpful. I like to say that Dan Daly was especially helpful and in making you my stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.
I was there for only a few hours during which time I was treated rudely by the C N A The bed had no rails and I was scared to turn on my side because I had I might go over the side How can a nursing home have beds with no rails?
It I shared, moreyou wouldntklike it.
Amazing staff! lovely location!
My Mother has been a resident here a few years now and I am always so grateful for the Staff and Nurses that are taking care of her. This facility did an amazing job of keeping everyone safe at the height of the pandemic and is very proactive in keeping me in the loop as to any health updates. Anyone in the health care system has to be an Angel, to have had the patience, humility, and kindness to deal with the public these past few years. And I am continually amazed and so thankful at the wonderful care my Mom receives. My sincere appreciation to Kelly, Jeremy & Janice, in addition to the Nurses that take care of my Mom.
