Information is shared about community events, safety tips, traffic problems, road closures, department news, missing pets, school closures and much more.

While we understand that social media is a 24/7 medium, our moderation capabilities are not. Our department’s social media platforms are monitored periodically and we respond to comments and messages as soon as possible.
Please keep in mind that we strive to share information and alerts as soon as possible, but in the cases of breaking or unfolding incidents, our attention is often focused on handling the situation at hand. Oftentimes, in the case of any investigation (especially ongoing ones), we are not able to release certain details and information. Please understand that as soon as we are able to or permitted to, we will pass the information on to all of you.
Comments and interaction are encouraged but, while this is an open forum, it's also a family friendly one. In addition to keeping it family friendly, we ask that you please adhere to the following:

The mission of the South River Police Department is to provide professional and effective law enforcement services to the community that we serve.
