To anyone who said this is a great hospital, you most definitely have never been outside the state of Alabama. There was blood splattered on the walls and the rooms were disgusting. The staff seemed to be all new and didn’t know half what they needed to. They were training a woman in IVs on me while I was writhing in abdominal pain and violently vomiting all over the ER room. They never answered any of my wife’s questions, and rushed me out of the room as soon as my bag of fluid was empty. I ended up returning back to the ER with 30 mins of being released, and after 3 hours throwing up in the ER lobby I walked out with an IV still in my arm. I drove 7 hours back to my house in Florida throwing up the whole way. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hospital.
I recently was admitted to Southeast health on 8/19/22. From the time my daughter brought me through the emergency room until 8/26/22 I have nothing but praise for all the men and women that I met while I stayed there. I was on the 4th floor it was the most wonderful experience that I have ever had been in the hospital. I was so surprised that that many men and women working on the day shift and the night shift with such kindness and patience for the people they are caring for. From the doctors down to the nurse's aide. Even the little ladies in housekeeping were so friendly. They make you feel like you are part of a family not just a patient. I've read some of the reviews and I hate to hear that the people had and not so welcoming visit. But I can only say that if it had not been for these men and women that I was blessed to be given to take care of me I do not believe that I would have been living today. They are so knowledgeable of all the new techniques of caring for their patients even down to certain types of equipment that's needed for heart patients like myself. They don't mind answering any questions that you have for them. If they don't know the answer they will go find out from someone else what the answer is but they always answer your questions quickly and thoroughly.
My mom just had a triple bypass done Tuesday. They give her cold food they don’t wake her up to let her know it’s even there. Her call light was unplugged. I do understand she’s not the only patient there. My mom can’t get around good as it is I had to call the hospital to let her nurse know that she had to go to the bathroom. The final straw is my sister came down six hours away to see our mom they called security on her because there were two of them trying to go back there to see her. They told my sister that in a 24 hour period that my mom could only have one visitor. My sister was in tears when she called my mom and told her that. That’s uncalled for the nurses desk called security or my sister. When my sister sat there and watched other couples more than one person go back there and see an individual. If you want rules everybody needs to abide by them not just certain ones! I’m making a complaint on here and my sister is making a complaint by phone! Something needs to be done. My mom is not in ICU anymore she’s in a regular room. There should be no regulations on how many visitors a day she can have. Because up until today the other nurse that she had will let her have multiple visitors just two people at a time. This is uncalled for either you start treating people right and patients or you need to be shut down! I don’t think I won’t try to do something about it because I will. I had a family member that used to work there but now since the hospitals turned she doesn’t work there anymore.
I spent just one night after a procedure. I met no less than 9 nurses/employees coming to my room on a regular basis checking on me in the -24 hours I was in a room. They were very attentive and even brought me coffee when I asked if it was available. The meals were good and sufficient. My room was clean. I met 3 more employees upon checking out. Everyone i saw actually cared about my well being and comfort. I was very impressed as it was a far cry from my father‘s last days in a different hospital in town.
Lindsay, RN and Chad, PA were phenomenal with my mom tonight. She has extreme white coat syndrome and was even tearful in the parking lot before going in. The staff in registration, triage, X-ray, and all throughout our stay were so kind and patient with her. She felt cared for and left feeling significantly more at ease than when we went in. Thank you to everyone for true quality patient care! It meant so much!
Hospitals are only as good as the staff! With that being said the nurses that work in labor and delivery are absolutely awful! I don't know your names because if I did I would surely publicize it. I hope that the women that work in labor and delivery will read this and strive to do better I can't call you nurses because even bad nurses have human decency, I'm not sure what to call you what I want to call you would be way to foul pitin this review
I went to take my sister her phone charger on Sunday , Sept. 18 at 5:20 p.m . I had to get a mask, add anti-bacterial to my hands, show my ID, and put on an ID bracelet! The two men working at the Information Desk were kind and receptive but the small brown-headed security guard was rude. She asked if I would be spending the night. I asked why. She said because if " you aren't back down here BEFORE 6, you will be locked in...and I don't mean at 6, I mean before 6! If you hear visiting hours are over, it will be too late!" I hurried upstairs and was back down at 5:50. I tried to get out the front door, and she barked, " That door is locked mam!" I was then redirected by one of the nice gentleman to take the side door exit. What a rude and insensitive security guard you have hired. This woman would serve well as a prison guard.
My 96-year-old Daddy just spent 5 days with the most incredible nurse I've ever met. Megan on the 7th floor was so patient and kind to us. Thank you for your Superior work and incredible ethics, we will never forget your kindness and your spirit. May God bless you and keep you. Sylvia
Honestly been here 10 times, never for me but for family. The CCU I will rate it a 3. The Maternity Ward I rate a 4. And I am not impressed. But the ED is the worst! Even with eyes closed I rate it a 0. Hrs of awaiting to be attended and though it's understandable that some emergency are more urgent, never would I think that the others aren't important till the next few hrs of morning. So in overall I give it a 2 decent because of the other departments i have been..
The wait time is forever! So plan on being here hours it took me 5 hours to be seen! However the nurse and the X-ray tech and the PA Alishia Moran were all super nice professional and informative, talked politely and listened! So the wait time to be seen was horrible but I will say the actual care team were excellent!
