The SESPRS Society - Advancing professional excellence in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
The Southeastern Society is widely viewed as the preeminent regional plastic surgery society in the country. Yet any organization is only as good as its members. New members bring fresh ideas and increased energy to the Society and are thus vital to its continued success.
The SESPRS was established in 1958 by pioneers of plastic surgery and continues today as the premier regional society of plastic surgery. The society has a strong commitment to innovation and research. It is an assemblage of like-minded surgeons who are devoted to life long learning, education, and research. We are also devoted to our patients, families, friends, and colleagues. The SESPRS is one of the few societies where the playing ground is level, no matter your training, skill or experience.
We welcome plastic surgeons to join us at our annual meeting for education, fellowship and to see what we are all about.
The objectives of the Society are:
-To maintain professional excellence in that branch of the Healing Arts established by our predecessors and recognized and respected by our contemporaries as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
-To provide forum for the exchange of information, experience and opinions which will serve to strengthen and inspire our members in their pursuit of the highest levels of personal conduct and professional service.
-To promote and further medical and surgical training and research pertaining to the study and treatment of congenital and acquired deformities and to keep the medical profession and the general public informed of the ever expanding benefits arising from progress made in these fields.
-To cooperate with other regional and national groups of Plastic Surgeons in the common endeavor to advance the specialty.
CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT:
Through its CME efforts, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons shall advance the art and science of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and interaction among its members.
Our aim is to provide comprehensive educational opportunities encompassing the entire breadth of plastic and reconstructive surgery through support of research and the sponsoring of scientific meetings for the dissemination of the latest advances in our field.
These efforts will be directed towards the membership of the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and other qualified plastic surgeons in the Southeastern United States. Our annual scientific meeting achieves the above goals by presenting free papers from the members covering the wide range of plastic surgery as well as open forums featuring panels of experts. Each year other symposia may be held which focus on a subject of current interest to our members.
All of these instructions are applicable and designed to improve the quality of patient care.
