Reviewed February 18, 2020 Thought it would be small with few items & really ended up encompassing various rooms on 2 floors chock full of information about Native Americans not just of the region. Actually want to go seek out other Indian museums now all over the country. Highlight? Could amazingly touch & handle authentic & expensive items one would not be able to anywhere else.
Small but surprisingly packed with lots of different artifacts, and museum staff is really passionate about what they do and will offer a lot of great information. We spent about 30 minutes looking at everything. Please be advised that the museum is only open on Sundays 1:30-4:30 I hope this is helpful to future guests as it appears that a previous reviewer tried to visit on a Saturday when they were closed.
I give it 5 stars. It was very informative. The person who helped me was Joe. He was well prepared and could answer all the questions I asked. I am looking forward to visiting in the near future and to tell my friends.
Went yesterday feb 20 at 1230 and you were closed. We looked up the times before we left and it showed you were open. PLEASE put a big sign letting people know you are closed and leave a voicemail with info on when you are open. We came from Nassau county. We e extremely disappointed.
It’s nice museum with good information. It always good to know some part of history: For adults-5$
Southold Indian museum is a hidden gem on the North Fork. The exhibits display unique artifacts and offer amazing insight to the history of the North Fork and eastern Long Island.
It was great! I love seeing all of the Indian culture related things! I hope to go there in the near future and spend more time.
Had a nice afternoon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of local artifacts on display.
The best part about this are the enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides. It's really super
