SWART is a Rural Transit District that services the counties of Dimmit, Edwards, Kinney, La Salle, Maverick, Real, Uvalde, and Zavala. Both rural public transportation and non-emergency medical transportation services are provided for both local and out of area routes. You must schedule at least 24 hours in advance by calling 1-800-499-1617. Office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM. Routes vary in time depending on destination. SWART observes three holidays...Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. Some weekend services are provided depending on the area.
A small fare is charged for the routes. SWART is funding under the Texas Department of Transportation and the Health and Human Service Commission Non Emergency Medical Medicaid Transportation Program.
