As far as airports go this is definitely one of the better ones. It’s generally well organized, kept very clean, and is easy to access. I have almost never had an issue at this airport except in the most extreme situations. Even when long security lines form they tend to process them pretty quickly. The area prior to going through security is extremely spacious which helps on busy days. There are also a few good food/drink options here such as Starbucks. This airport mainly loses a star because it/the terminal is really small and the options for food/shops are not great. Honestly some of the worst I’ve seen at any airport. Lots of seating though and charging areas which is always appreciated. Also lots of bathrooms which I think is essential in any airport. This is an international airport but it doesn’t feel that way. It’s not as bustling as somewhere like JFK but it does its job just right
Southwest Florida International Airport is convenient and clean. Before moving to Southwest Florida, this was my airport of choice even if it meant driving further. The jetBlue terminal has at least two restaurants that serve a wide variety of food and there is also a convenience mart. Upon my last visit, the security personnel were all very friendly. If you're visiting Southwest Florida for vacation or returning as a "snowbird", I highly recommend using this airport for both your departures and arrivals, which will surely say, "Welcome home".
Southwest Florida International Airport RSW is a major county-owned airport in the South Fort Myers area. The airport serves the Southwest Florida region, including the Cape Coral Fort Myers, Naples-Marco Island and Punta Gorda metropolitan areas. It currently is the second-busiest single-runway airport in the United States. This airport can be classified as a mid size airport.....not to small and not too big either. It would be recommended to here at the TSA check-in atleast an hour before your flight and you should be fine even if they are super busy. All the terminals are within one huge contiguous building. So you can walk from one end to the other not worrying about getting on shuttles. The airport is maintained very well and clean. It has a 3 level parking deck for short term parking right across the airport as well.
Nice airport a bit better than Tampa. This airport is a decent size and it’s run very well. It has plenty of seating, clean gates and walkways, and has some nice little shops with great signage. The staff from every gate is nice and friendly and TSA is great and runs great. Each airline owns a few gates which is easy to locate your gate for your flight. Will definitely keep flying here whenever I visit Florida!
It’s a really small airport and we got here about 90 minutes before our JetBlue flight. The check in agents were really helpful and kind. There are only a few options for dining but they have alcohol at most times of the day and the Starbucks line stayed short all the way up to our plane departure.
My family actually loves this airport! We are from Naples so it’s convenient as it is Close to I75. The TSA process is usually fast and they are some of the nicest TSA employees I have ever interacted with which makes the process so much smoother. I admire them for the work that they do they do not have easy jobs. In the event that we have a super early flight at times, we may want to stay at the airport the previous evening, and if that is the case, there’s also lots of nearby hotels & restaurants. Restaurants vary in price so you can eat at you. One dollar restaurant all the way to a five dollar restaurant. Fort Myers is a nice area and the airport is not that far from the beach. It is a very clean Airport and we always get right through the check-in process and get to our gate with no issues. You no longer need to wear or stay socially distanced but at my most recent visit to the airport I did see several passengers wearing mask. The drop-off area for departures is easy to use as well as the pick-up area for arrivals. The cell phone lot is highly lighted before family members who are waiting for their loved ones to arrive from a flight. I highly recommend RSW Airport! Nice airport.
This airport is extremely easy to use. There is plenty of parking, and the gates are just a short walk from the main entrance and ticketing area. Security was a pleasure. The lines were not too long. The TSA agents were friendly and helpful. There are plenty of places to eat or get last minute souvenirs.
Why put a store before security if security is going to claim your unopened soda for themselves because u can't have fluids they say BUT after security they will sell u the same thing again near your gate. SCAM
The City of Palms is located in Southwestern Florida on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River. Most visitors go to Fort Myers for the deep-sea fishing, the golf courses and the famous white sand beaches and islands that line the Gulf Coast. A renovation of the city's downtown waterfront promises new restaurants, clubs, shops and galleries. Attractions include the winter estates of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison, as well as nearby
Nice quaint airport and fairly modern. It was helpful for a trip over to Marco island which is about an hour away. There are no lounges and the food options are limited so check the food options before you pass security. People seem to like Shula’s out of the options.
