Dr. Ball has been wonderful! I have had chronic low back pain for some time. After he performed bilateral ablations, my back pain is completely gone! His office staff is very helpful! My life has been transformed. Able to sleep, swim, and walk all without pain! It is wonderful!
I have been a patient with Dr Ball @SWFP Center for over 4 years now. I am grateful for his care, I believe he is very easy to talk to and direct with his explanations. The staff have been very courteous and helpful, from the front desk to the authorization desk. The OR teams are efficient right through into recovery. While I'm waiting, I ask God to bless this practice and all that they do.
I was a patient of Dr. VALENTE for over 15 yrs.. He took over my care from a VERY bad pain doc in Sarasota w/c had sent me to who made my pain much worse. Dr. VALENTE was willing to take over in the middle of another doctors huge mess and for this I am ever grateful to him. As time went on I eventually got worse developing O.A, Psoriatic arthritis, had multiple orthopedic surgeries, CRPS that had spread from R leg to entire body, & other conditions. He put me on a number of meds and I NEVER abused them. I underwent many diff. types of nerve blocks. All gave me relief but often short lived. Then Dr. Ball took over the practice. He fired EVERY employee but Dr. VALENTE. Suddenly after more than 15 yrs Dr. VALENTE told me he was retiring soon. THIS WAS 8 YRS ago now to the present 2023. So, I was lied to as was my w/c attorney as to why he could no longer treat me. I found a new pain doc who is awesome and listens to my issues. I only take meds.IF ABSOLUTELY NEEDED ! But Dr. VALENTE started me on the majority. I needed a pain Mgt doc to conduct period nerve blocks, epidurals etc.. No longer w/c.. I was scheduled to see a doc once again with SWFL PAIN MGT. Strictly for nerve blocks, epidurals etc. and received call days later to cancel my appt. NO excuse other than they don't wish to see me as a patient. I tried a few times with different docs in the group with NO success ! At the time they were closest to my home & only avail. that I trusted to place a needle in my spine. I found a new alternative Pain Mgt doc that seems to actually care. He has never attempted to force me to have a Spinal cord stimulator implant which is y I ended up at SWFL Pain Mgt. The device was implanted by Sarasota doc and NEVER functioned properly. My body rejected it ! Dr. VALENTE at the time said some people are NOT mean't to have them. But Dr. Ball took over & that was his big push. NO way was I going thru that Hell again. There are many pain Mgt docs available if you truly have severe pain issues. Don't get fired by a doctor for abuse of pain meds. U will NEVER find another doctor to take over your care. There are also MANY highly rated alternative Pain Mgt docs available in Charlotte Co, Lee Co. & Sarasota Co. With far better patient reviews. I have NO respect for a doctor who lies to me when I've done nothing wrong. The truth would have been better. While at SWFL PAIN MGT the wait took forever ! When Dr. Ball took over the practice I ,& the person taking me to a room were forced to stop walking while he in public told one of his employees off. Neither the place nor the time ! Lack of Professionalism at least on behalf of Dr. Ball is at an all time high. Try dealing with issues such as this after seeing patients & in a PRIVATE setting. Next to the fact the woman he was telling off was the mother of his unborn child.
30 yrs of back surgery one after the other and SWF Pain has helped myself and my wife to avoid major spinal surgeries. Why it takes this long to find help with debilitating pain in the US is just unacceptable. Thank you SWFP!!
I don't think plugging electronic nerve blocking devices INTO the SPINE is a good idea at all. In my opinion your facility does the most expensive invasive procedures all for money. Not caring if the person gets better, worse or indifferent. Quackadoodle doo toodaloo
Dr. Ball of the Southwest Florida Pain Clinic is my Hero! I am forever grateful for his knowledge and skill of the Intracept Procedure. I have suffered with chronic low back pain for the last ten years. While injections helped, the pain was still there causing me discomfort with increasing intensity as the last injection wore off. I constantly had to evaluate what I could handle, be it chores or recreation. This was a hardship for me as I had always been very active and I had to curtail several of my activities. While I had resolved myself to my back issues, it definitely had an effect on me both physically and mentally. I often could not reconcile the life I used to lead with the physical limitations I had to live with. Then a miracle happened. I had a consultation with Dr. Ball to discuss the Intracept Procedure. Dr. Ball was very thorough in his explanation of Intracept and I was thrilled to learn this could enhance my quality of life. The Intracept Procedure was minimally invasive just as Dr. Ball explained and I experienced minimal pain in the first few days following the procedure. Within a week my lower back pain was gone!! To say I am thrilled is an understatement. I never dreamed I could live my life without the constant pain and aggravation. I am so thankful to Dr. Ball and the SW Pain Clinic for offering the Intracept Procedure. I highly recommend if you are experiencing chronic low back pain that you immediately schedule an appointment with the SW Florida Pain Clinic. Start to live more of your life just as I am now!
Had a new appointment and because I couldn't fill out the pre-admission form online like they wanted I had to cancel the appointment. I would have probably had to wait anyway and could have filled out any forms they needed I told them to cancel my appointment and that I would find another pain management doctor as I did not need someone who cared that little bit about what their patients could or could not do.
Dr Ball is an excellent pain management physician. I had the Intracept Procedure performed for my back pain. I am a retired podiatrist and researched this procedure and learned Dr Ball was considered one of the best in the country. I couldn't argue with that.
I have been a patient now for 9 months and Dr. Andrew Cook has done an amazing job for managing my pain. BUT it's sad to note that the staff will not return phone calls on the "nurses voicemail". I had to make a special appointment because they forgot to send in my medicines 2x. I had to come back 2 days later today as they still had not called in the prescription. I was told since Dr Cook had cancelled my appointment, they cancelled my prescription!! I just walked away as it's not worth ruining my attitude and health over incompetence.
Update - My pain is now a 10/10. The “diagnostic” facet joint injections seemed to have made things worse. I kind of feel the victim of age discrimination. I’m 41, but look young for my age. When I told the doctor I have had RFA he said that I was awfully young to have had that done. I am retired on disability and my former occupation caused a lot of wear and tear on my neck. I just don’t know how you can say I’d probably get relief from facet joint injections without any diagnostics no images, no records and no physical examinations. I moved from VA to FL recently and needed to find someone to continue my pain and spine treatment. I had Radiofrequency Ablation RFA in VA and needed to find a doctor in FL to administer the RFA again as my neck really began to hurt again. I asked repeatedly for them to obtain my records from my previous doctor so they would know where to do the ablation again not entirely their fault as my previous doctor’s office was unresponsive for weeks. Prior to getting the records they gave me facet join injections as a diagnostic measure to see where they needed to do the RFA again. Mind you the doctor simply looked at me to make this determination and did no examination of me. Didn’t even feel my neck or back. Anyway, the injections did nothing. I feel worse in fact. I have called repeatedly for weeks for a muscle relaxer to be called in until I can have the RFA again and no one will call me back. I don’t understand why you would administer a diagnostic procedure before checking my records to see where I had the RFA done before since that actually worked. Anyway I’m going to have to find a new spine and pain doctor in FL. Also, when I called to cancel an upcoming appointment and let them know I was unhappy with their treatment I was told okay, best of luck. Didn’t even ask why. Goes to show they probably get this sort of thing a lot.
