Southwestern Jefferson County Consolidated School Corporation (Southwestern) is located in Hanover, Indiana, population approximately 3,600 and serves a district-wide population of approximately 9,400 people including Hanover College. The corporation began as a consolidated school district in 1959, including Hanover, Republican, Saluda, and Smyrna townships. Our community is primarily residential and agricultural with some small businesses. We are located five miles west of Madison, Indiana, and our school corporation boundaries include Hanover College. School buses run approximately 698 miles per day for contract routes, 137 miles per day for town routes, 41 miles per day for special education routes and 62 miles per day for a vocational route.
