My son and I love coming here! We've been members now for the past two years. I looked at a lot of martial arts schools in the area and SMA was the perfect fit for my schedule and budget. When I came in to speak to Jana about signing up, she told me about their adult kickboxing program. I was hooked! I made the decision to stop being a spectator and join in on the action. This experience has changed my son and I for the better. His behavior has improved and the principles he learns in class help him communicate better than he ever has. We look forward to growing more as a family and improve together.
As I contemplated my childhood , I remembered one of my many great experiences in my life. It was the day my mom said I could learn Martial arts. “ In theory it sounded great”! And it’s was! Don’t get me wrong my mom instilled in me self esteem , character , honesty , know how , determination , kindness and respect for others. But Martial arts brought it all together! But that was my childhood. So of course as a parent I want the same for my son. Who is nine years old. We stumbled across A family owned and operated Martial Arts arena. “ Sovereign Martial Arts of Rahway New Jersey! Immediately I felt comfortable with not only the atmosphere but the love , the attention to detail with specific needs for every individual child , there needs may vary and be different. The school is owned and ran by husband and wife!!! Right there you know the foundation of the school is strong! Strong FOUNDATION + STRONG TECHNIQUE = Flawless adaptability And never wavering strength. Sovereign Martial Arts has improved my sons AWARENESS, SELF ESTEEM, responsibility , respect , most importantly a close second family. My sons grades have improved dramatically ! Yes because of SMA, Sma has increased his focus!!!! I recommend Sovereign Martial Arts for all ages. But especially for the young and impressionable. Come join , bring ur family , and make ur family bigger!
My son has been training at Sovereign Martial Arts for 4.5 years and the whole family loves it there. Since his training started, we have seen such a change in our son. Not only has he grown stronger and improved his karate skills, but we’ve seen a direct impact on his behavior and school performance. Since the very beginning we have felt welcomed and supported as members of the Sovereign Martial Arts family.
My daughters and I all train at Sovereign Martial Arts and we love it. It’s more than just martial arts training. Everyone is welcomed and are part of the family. The instructors are amazing. They genuinely want to see every student succeed. We are so happy and grateful to have found SMA
My sons and I train at this school. It was the best decision I have made. I started my older son here when he was bullied at a young age. Today he could and would take on any bully. They are no match for him. We went to two other karate schools before this one and felt that this one was the one for us. There is a strong feeling of family At this school. Everyone is very very supportive. My younger son has autism. I was hesitant to put him in karate. This school has embraced him and worked with him.... they even came in earlier and worked with him individually to help him when he was very little. He has come such a long way. Not only is he moving up in Belt rank but it has helped his ADHD and his focus and he is doing really well in school. I HIGHLY recommend this school for anyone with Autism.
My wife and I brought our daughter for the discovery session. The instructor was very inviting and kept our daughter engaged throughout the entire session. We decided to sign her up, and she was very hesitant at first. However, they made our daughter feel at ease and she is super excited to be a part of their family!
Words cannot express how grateful I am for Sovereign Martial Arts, it has changed my entire family’s life! My 8 year old triplets are each successful in their own way. Logan was diagnosed with autism and adhd, when he was 4 he couldn’t stay still for a minute! Now he is engaged and focused for a 45 minute class and a 30 minute class after that!! My daughter Sarah does not like people watching her perform, their leadership program has brought out so much confidence in her she now shines and feels good about herself! And Joanie, this girl could barely stand on one leg when she first started, now she can kick over anyone’s head! She’s 8 years old and a junior warrior black belt! My husband loves the Krav classes and I enjoy the martial arts classes! Come join us, you’ll regret it if you don’t!
We love SMA! For the past 2 years that Viviana has been a martial arts student with them, we have been treated like family. Shihan and all of the instructors are awesome, and the kids are all supportive of each other. We couldn't have found a better martial arts school!
An amazing place to learn how to be a Martial Artist. They hold no boundaries to “karate”, as there are many aspects and variation of martial arts, my son and myself are both learning every time we walk through the door. The programs seem to continuously evolve into a better learning experience as time goes on. They even have a cage! Scrap the gym this is a much better workout
This is a family place. I love it . I am so grateful to have met Shihan Jose Dicervo and Sensei Jana. They know exactly what they are doing. They are always there to help the children in staying focus and staying on task. I love to watch them teach . Shihan takes time with the children,making sure that they are learning and at the same time appreciating each other.My daughter has made tremendous progress. I will be here for a long time because my daughter needs Shihan and his group. Sensei Harold Reed is wonderful. He is always on target. He demonstrates and shows the children what they need. I enjoy watching him with the children. I love this place and I honestly believe that our children need a place that the can have fun and at the same time learn.
