Our family had a wonderful tour of this location. It is very small but very informative to the time period. We were able to expand on our current knowledge of different topics. The history of the building is great too. We loved our guide and he was very interactive. This is a great experience and worth checking out. It’s also in a great location and quick enough if you’re waiting a crazy amount of time for one of the larger nearby restaurants.
Absolutely incredible museum tour; Celeste, Katie, and Laura were wonderful! Very interesting subject matter, very engaging tour guide who answered all my questions! Definitely the highlight of my trip to Saint Augustine this time! Thank you again!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$11–15
This tour was good!!! It was a quicker one, maybe 40 minutes...so it was nice to fit this in and it was worth it. Learned quite a few things and the woman that gave the tour was knowledgeable and humorous.
Though small, the museum display was very informative. The jewel, though, was our guide. She is very knowledgeable about the period, answering our questions about minutiae of the era. She told us facts that were obviously part of her own research. It was one of the two highlights of our visit to St. Augustine.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$11–15
This was one of my favourite stops in St. Augustine. Not too pricey, very educational and fun. My husband even got to do an interactive demonstration of a historical amputation. Wait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$6–10
Day two of family fun summer vacation kicked off bright and early with breakfast and a boat ride. Following some typical Florida weather of scattered showers every few minutes, we ventured into the St. Augustine Hospital Museum. My family and I were welcomed by very personable individuals, and had a stellar tour guide, Katie. Katie is very knowledgeable of the hospital’s history, tools/instruments, and surgical procedures. As well as, Katie is great with children and making sure everyone is having a blast. She also informed us of many different surgical cases, as well as the medicine and operation of pharmacy. All in all, this tour is well worth it and there’s a cute garden and gift shop at the end. Much history, laughs, and all in all a great time. Thank you and much appreciation!
My fiance and I came in yesterday and we loved our presentation. We were lucky enough to have only 2 other people in our tour so our guide was able to personalize everything to our knowledge and experiences which was fascinating. I wish I could remember his name, I'm horrible. I'm only curious, was this a walk through self guided museum at one point? I feel like I've been here before but it was very different. Still enjoyed it and wish we could have had our guide for a little bit longer!
As a medical professional I found this tour to be very interesting and informative; my teenager even loved it! Jose was the best at explaining the history of medicine, engaging and passionate about sharing his knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour! The gift shop was cute and offered a variety of goods from nurse gifts, t-shirts and homemade soaps
The presenter was fantastic. Full of energy and charisma, he presented to us the messed-up cases of medical malpractice throughout history. This specific tour is only 18+, so minors will not be able to attend. It has minor interactive moments which really flesh out everything. The presenter is knowledgeable in the topic of past awful medical ideas, and the pace is neck-breaking which I find to be a good thing. I would heavily reconsider purchasing another ticket just to support their endeavor alone.
It was a great experience. The employees are very knowledgeable about the medicine and the medical instruments of the erra. Also, the visual representation was outstanding. A person that love culture and History will definitely will appreciate this place. Will visit again. Thanks.
