About

A fully immersive, creative environment that, combined with creative programming, inspires minds, builds confidence and shapes the future for all children.

Description

SPARK! is an indoor wholly immersive, creative environment for children age 7-17. It ignites their creativity through a 360-degree, hands-on learning playground that invites children to explore and interact with the arts and other creative disciplines in extraordinary ways. Open to the public EVERY Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Dallas visionaries, artists and community leaders worked together to bring SPARK! to our great city. We have an 11,000 square foot facility in Downtown Dallas at Southside on Lamar. Open by appointment for groups and on Saturdays for the public. The facility if available for private parties. Please visit our web site www.sparkdallas.org for more information.

Our Mission is: To ignite the spark of creativity inherent in all children. We want to give children from every walk of life the opportunity to explore their individual creativity in a wildly imaginative way – a way that stimulates curiosity and fulfills a natural desire for discovery.

How to Get Involved: There are numerous ways to engage. Learn how you can volunteer, donate, spread the word or join our newsletter by visiting sparkdallas.org. We are a non-profit 501c3 and greatly appreciate the help from our supporters!

Very fun experience for the kids. Hands on activities with lots of creative simulation. Will be back!
Most interesting place in town. If MC Escher and Rube Goldberg were architects they would design something like this together. Fun and stimulating for adults and kids alike.
Pretty neat place. Fun if you're looking for a very active place to take the kids. Lots if climbing.
This place is awesome and a nonprofit so its definitely a win win. The interactive play ground is highly intriguing. They have multiple play areas with different activities. I even had a great time creating my light up mural. In the entrance room they a huge hall for painting activities or whatever in on the schedule. They even have a stage for performances. Good place for birthday parties!
We had a wonderful time at SPARK! It’s an incredible value for all that there is to see and do. The staff was kind and helpful and they were great with my kids. I’m so glad to know that there is a place in our area that’s dedicated not just to entertaining children, but to inspiring their creativity. On the way home, my daughter said, “Maybe I can be a famous sculptor someday!”
I went on a family day Saturday. I didn't like the playground, didn't find it safe for kids at all. Also, the crafts they were doing that day didn't seem safe for a 5 year old either they were making butterflies using soda cans. I wish I was able to see the place before paying $40 for a 20 minutes stay.
Such a unique place! I took my son there for his last birthday. He had a blast but unfortunately became quickly overwhelmed by the noise. He’s autistic and when we explained it to the staff, the owner I’m so sorry, I forgot your name... you were so sweet! offered to let us come back one day, an hour before opening so that Connor could enjoy himself without the noise. Just amazing! HIGHLY recommend!
My kids love this place and I'm completely jealous they didn't have something like this when I was a kid. They did when I grew up in Monterey Bay, but it was outdoors and not safe by today's standards. We've enjoyed SPARK! several times and I love their commitment to art, creativity, and imagination. My only recommendation would be to reconsider their birthday party packages $375 is the cheapest for 25 kids; there should be a smaller tier at 6-8 kids and doing more live craft/art activities on the weekends. Still, the kids always have fun and $10 for a few hours is a great deal!
Amazing space but unfortunately the camp description wasn't what the camp ended up being at all and it wasn't worth the cost. I tried to cancel another session we had planned on attending but was denied a refund for being within 14 days of the camp starting we are 7 days out. Description for Box Fort Bonanza: "Explore architecture and design using 3-D model making. Campers will also enjoy creating their own shabby chic shack using recyclables and fun art mediums" The kids basically stacked up a bunch of boxes one day and didn't do much else with the "fort". It ended up falling down the day before camp ended. If they did more than that in camp, the staff did a poor job of communicating it to parents!
I went to Spark in February with a large group and we made glass crafts that were supposed to be "cooked" that evening. We were informed that step couldn't be done that evening as planned and we would have our creations mailed to us. In early May I contacted the organization that hosted the outing to Spark inquiring about my glass pendant. I was informed that, when they finally received the crafts, many of them were broken and most of them were not labeled with our names we were instructed to put our names on our work, so there was no way to get our pieces returned to us. This place was A LOT of fun and very interesting and colorful inside, but I'm super disappointed in the follow through and the fact that we all have nothing to show for our work and our money.
