This page is intended to connect people in need, charities/non-profits/organizations, and those who want to help all in one place
*note: this is currently a traverse city and surrounding areas operation*
This page has been created with a 3 part system in mind:
1. For those in need (or their family/friends/acquaintances) to post their story and what they need. Perhaps there was a fire and they have been left with nothing; or a lost job with no money to buy warm clothing for the kids or themselves; An upcoming interview that you cannot afford to buy dress clothes for, it could be any manner of things. Maybe you have questions about programs and resources to help and are looking for someone with information. So the saying goes, ASK and you shall receive, that is my hope for this site. A safe, non judgmental place to ask for help.
2. For organizations and charities to post their needs and events to help others, also to post volunteer opportunities for those looking to get involved in the community.
3. For those of us who want so badly to help another the way we have been helped, and are overwhelmed with where to start. I ask that you start here, with one person, in any way that you can. Maybe you have an extra jacket or boots; or are able to provide a ride to for someone to get to an interview/work because it is your day off; maybe you have been blessed with a gift that could help another and not cost a dime. It may seem small, menial even, but I can promise -as a woman who has needed for many things over the years- even the smallest of things make a huge impact.
We simply ask that you to post what you need, and post what you can afford to give. As a group let us start a spark in someone else's dark and help to make the world bright.
To help another is to take a burden that lies upon their shoulders and assist in laying it to rest.
