Mission

S-PRITUALLY ALTERED TEENS
P-REPARING TO
A-RISE AND
R-EVEAL GOD'S
K-INGDOM

Then the Lord told me: “I will give you my message in the form of a vision.
Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance.” Habakkuk 2:2

Spark Youth's mission is to ignite a Holy Fire in it's students to encourage them in the Ways of the Lord, to help them develop a dependency on God and give them a passion in their heart for the lost; so that we may reach 1000s of teens for Christ.

1. We believe that it is important for teens to develop and maintain a “personal” relationship with Christ.

This is our primary focus for our students. So often a teen's view of Christianity is that they just need to be a good person or that because they grew up in a Christian family and attended church since birth they are saved. This is not the truth God teaches. We cannot have a relationship with Him just by being good in the world's eye. Just because a student gets good grades and doesn't curse or do drugs, does not make them a Christian. This holds true for the student who is born into a Christian family. We call this a “proxy” or a “shadow” relationship; one lived through a parent or relative. We teach for both the “church-ed” and “unchurch-ed” teen, that this relationship is personal... individual... and all in compassing... and has nothing to do with anyone else.

2. We believe that today is the time to reach our community, not tomorrow, for time is short.

Each generation we see are growing less and less reliant on God. Statistic show more and more young people are walking away from the church after turning 18. It's not that they believe less in God as it may seem, because just as many teens believe in God now as ever. Just far less are giving their lives over to Him. To us this just means that time is running out and we need to press harder on this “mission” field; our community. It also tells us that the way we present the Gospel needs to be in constant change to keep up with the world grabbing for our teens and to reach this generation in a way that is engaging and current.. Keeping the truth alive in ways that directly compete in a time where every teen has access to the world in their pocket 24/7.

3. We believe that the Bible, God's Living Word, is life changing and relevant for today's Teens..

God was clear when He said in Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. “ In other words, the Bible, still holds the answer for today's generation of teens. We may use different methods and modern delivery ways to keep teens engaged and connected, but the Bible is still the key to the message we want to infuse into their lives. We teach that the Bible is not just for church or youth service, but every minute of everyday. We believe this is the key to success and growth...

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. Isiash 55:11
