The Spartan Arena is Castleton State College's state-of-the-art Athletic facility located in Rutland, Vermont. The arena is home to the Castleton men’s and women’s ice hockey programs, as well as countless other events that benefit Castleton students, staff and the greater Rutland community.
The arena has had considerable improvements made since Castleton purchased the facility in the summer of 2009, enhancing its appeal and access to the community, as well as improving the student-athlete experience.
Most recently, a second observation deck has been added to the southern end of the rink and the bleachers have had a number of stadium-style seats added. The Mezzanine level has recently been completed and includes enhanced seating, improved press area, a fitness center, conference area and classroom space.
The 2,800 square foot fitness center features state of the art equipment including treadmills, elipticals, spinning bikes, Nautilus upper and lower body machines, power racks and much more.
The hockey teams benefit from top of the line team rooms, athletic training facilities and the fitness area on site.
The Spartan Arena Fitness Center is open to the public. Membership registration and facility tours are available at the Spartan Arena from 8 am until 8 pm.
