We provide low cost canine spay and neuter vouchers to low income families in Valencia County. As we grow we plan to expand to all rural counties in NM.
Stop shelter overpopulation and the euthanization of healthy animals by working to put spay neuter laws in place throughout the state.
We are a group of volunteers dedicated to these goals:
Short Term goals
• Create a group large enough and strong enough to affect positive change in animal overpopulation.
Long Term Goals
• Change Legislation: Work with the public and legislators to create stricter spay/neuter laws in the state of NM.
• Education: Bring to light the high cost to the community addressing both finance and health risks. Education will include having a presence at public events, free community seminars and educational materials at participating vet offices and shelters.
• Outreach: Encourage new spay/neuter and support our existing programs through grant writing and fundraising.
“The Spay-Neuter Coalition of NM reduces overpopulation and euthanization of healthy dogs and cats and improves the welfare of animals in the community. We work with the community to provide and support existing resources that benefit both animals and people. We use our hands-on projects for community education, spay/neuter clinics and to influence policy, legislation and enforcement.”
