A trap/neuter/return (TNR) group dedicated to humanely reducing the homeless cat population and helping cats have a better quality of life in Worcester.
The Spay Worcester coalition has grown from concerned Worcester residents reaching out to animal welfare professionals for support. A dynamic coalition has now formed and includes many people who each bring unique resources to the table. Additionally, the group intends to work collaboratively with the Worcester Animal Rescue League, the City of Worcester, and other interested parties.
The goal of the Spay Worcester task force is to work to reduce the population of free-roaming cats in the city of Worcester through spay, neuter, and public education. The focus of this task force will be to provide basic medical care (spay, neuter, and rabies vaccinations) for free-roaming and unowned cats through responsible trap/neuter/return. The task force will also seek to increase the resources available for low-income spay & neuter for pet cats in Worcester by working with other organizations. We believe that all cat populations must be addressed in order to see a decrease in Worcester’s free-roaming cat population.
