Everything was just fine until under new ownership. Storage fee went up $40.00 a month and now they are charging a mandatory "protection plan" each month, which is just a grab for more money. No details of the "plan" has been provided, so they are charging for a service that is undocumented. I cannot believe the Insurance Commission of Wyoming would all the inforced insurance. For once California is on the more rational side? Shame on you Wyoming!
I’ve been renting a unit here for over 5 years at least. I read some of the other reviews that are are old and some negative. I actually love this place for a few reasons. One, the aisles are actually pretty wide aside from one section that is u shaped. Yes it is a little tight turning the corners but it’s still manageable and you actually have good amount of space all around , especially compared to other storage facilities. I have been doing the storage unit auctions for a few years now so I’ve experienced almost every facility in Cheyenne as well as some in Colorado and there is a lot of places in Cheyenne that feel claustrophobic as far as how big the aisles are and are more of a headache then anything. Another benefit to having a unit here is you have 24 hour access, which I didn’t even know that most places only allow you access during certain hours until I started doing the actions, and I don’t know how anyone can do that in my opinion! What if a situation came up where you need something that’s in your storage and it’s after hours, then you have to wait until the next morning?! I’m sorry but you should be allowed access to your belongings at all times. The security measures they have in place are also a plus as well. You have to have a code to enter and exit, there’s surveillance cameras, and they require you to have the heavy duty locks that can’t be cut with Bolt cutters. The manager lady, Cris, is actually pretty nice and cool, she just doesn’t put up with any nonsense which is hope anyone running a business needs to be. And yes they do plow during the winter.
The manager has helped me several times when I needed a unit last minute for friends or family. Highly recommend! I've been renting units here for so long I consider the manager and grounds keeper friends.
I'm going to start this off by saying the lady that works behind the counter is fantastic. She is very kind and very helpful. We were from out of town and had never seen this place in person before renting a unit here. Had I seen it, I would have gone somewhere else. They have all of these big metal pods sitting in the drive space that you have to maneuver around. It's ridiculous! Even in my car, there is a corner that I have trouble turning at and sometimes have to back up to get a sharper angle. I can't even imagine having to try to back a trailer into that row. If they want to expand and offer more units, they need to expand an offer more units and lose the giant metal pods that block half the driveway!
As you can see, many of the comments on this place are old! They do plow here and only expect you to shovel directly in front of your locker because plows can only get so close and many people leave the straps sticking out from under the door! Management is very nice and they are very watchful over the property, which is a plus if you store your property here! There are working cameras on site at all times and a security gate. The gravel roads to it aren't perfect, but with them being on the same road as the Speedway what can we expecting? Lol. I've used them repeatedly and never had any issues!
I stopped on the side of the road near this place to eat a butterfinger and do some emails while working in the field. I was approached by a women claiming to be the Manager. She Rudely yell to me “are you lost!” I replied “hello ma’am how are you”. When she demanded me to respond and louder she asked me if I was Lost again. I said no ma’am how are you today. “You need to leave” she said. I replied I’m merely doing some work with my lap top out. She rudely said to me again this is private property. No ma’am it’s a place of business and county road. I’ve lived in Cheyenne for 12 years and this is no way to treat a person. When you are an employee you represent the business. She threaten to call the sherif’s department. I have this all recorded. I called in to speak to the owners and she said they died and she was the owner. How do you go from GM to owner then stated she spoke to a neighbor walking there dog and they felt uncomfortable and she was sorry for treating me that way. But refused to give up her bosses information. Either way lady you’ll never get my business. Bad day or not. You harassed me, provoked me and then threatened me and you don’t even know my name. My name is displayed here. I would like the owner to call me directly. You have my number on your caller I’d Miss GM/Owner.
DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR STORAGE OR U-HAUL RENTALS. Not unless you like being verbally abused and physically threatened, anyway. I picked up my girlfriend's personal property from a unit at this place on 4 Nov 2016 to bring it back to Michigan. The site manager is rude, arrogant, lazy, suspicious, disrespectful, and completely unhelpful in all ways. She even called in her "hired muscle" while I was there to present a physical threat to me. It doesn't matter how far you might need to go to stay away from this place - it WILL be worth the extra driving and time to be treated like a human being.
DO NOT STORE HERE IN WINTER IF YOU WANT ACCESS TO YOUR BELONGINGS Managment refuses to plow snow anywhere on the property because to it "cost too much" My friend got stuck, twice in 2 min. Manager drove past him and off site without offering help. Another couple got stuck in thier huge truck and uhaul trailer, which they had to unhook to get out. Manager stated they had to get the uhaul out even though there really was not a way too due to all the snow!
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! The only reason they get one star is because there's not option for minus stars. The women who runs this is the rudest, snob I have ever delt with. That is not the way to treat paying customers. Not only is this women horrendous but they leave you absolutely no room to drive a vehicle in, and they do not plow or maintain the road to get in. Please beware!!
The place has easy access, it's clean and secure and the manager is so very nice, I would recommend this storage facility to everyone,
