For over 35 years, Gladys City has given visitors a glimpse into life in the historic Spindletop oil field circa 1901.

Description

January 10, 1901 – the day the Lucas Gusher came in on Spindletop Hill, south of Beaumont, Texas. From that day to this, Texas and the world have never been the same. Come, step back in time as you visit 15 buildings that re-create life on Spindletop Hill & in Gladys City.

Gladys City kindles the wildcatter spirit in everyone through distinctive experiences inspired by the history, signifcance and legacy of Spindletop.
