I saw Dr Lacey for the first time last week. I have never had a doctor listen to what I had to say about my pain and when i finished explaining he knew exactly where my pain was without me showing him. I was very impressed with him for his concern and his personality.
Dr. Bernard performed my cervical spine surgery excellent doctor very welcoming and explained everything very well. However the after care was and is horrible. I had my surgery in April and unfortunately my problems got worse along with symptoms I didn’t have before surgery. I’ve been in extreme pain and not able to care for myself most days and this clinic has let me suffer in pain referred to pain management it’s been a month still no appointments and still suffering with pain and they have refused to give me anything to help with it. So I’m laying in pain waiting for appointments NO ONE should have to lay and suffer in pain like this!!!! Very disappointed
Dr. Chadduck has literally saved my life! I fought with pain for almost a year and was told by several “there is no reason for the pain” or “It’s psychological” Had Dr. Chadduck not taken the time to review my history, talk to me, and take the proper steps to eliminate causes for pain, I would still be suffering. After taking steps to test and procedures to investigate he found the source of pain. Then he took the appropriate plan of action and has corrected it! He is amazing!! I cannot thank him enough!
Writing this for my mother, who had some major spine problems and needed surgery asap. She had MRI on Sunday and as soon as the doctor seen the pictures on Monday morning. DR Chadduck called and wanted to see her that day and he knew that she needed surgery immediately and the longer it took ,the more permanent damage she would have. And he wanted to do the surgery the next day..It was a 2 days before he was able to get an OR and he was not pleased about the wait. But a few days later, the operation was done and Dr Chadduck did a wonderful job and an incredible job for her. She was handled with the up most concern and treated very well and the improvement has been wonderful. NO pain and no limitations. We have always been an UVA family and this happened suddenly and we knew it would be a longer wait time for her and she was in horrible pain and we trusted Dr Chadduck after our first visit. And it needed to be done now. I would recommend Dr Chadduck to anyone and everyone. Super nice, explaining things fully , both good and the bad. And treated my mom like she was his own, before and after surgery. I would recommend him to everyone needing spiral surgery. He hasn't be here very long but I'm glad he is now..
My husband had back surgery by Dr. Pollard 5 years ago. He healed quickly and for 2 years was virtually pain free. We were grateful. For the last 3 years, my husband's pain has started again and increasingly worsened. He recently made an appt to see Dr. Pollard to ask why his back is hurting so much again. Dr. Pollard simply took an x-ray and said the x-ray doesn't look that bad. He seemed pleased with Greg's back and did not address the real pain my husband is having again. Dr. Pollard sent us a nearly $200 bill for this appt where Dr. Pollard showed no support in this 5 yr update where my husband specifically went to seek advice and find direction/help for his renewed pain. And the only advice he gave was that my very active, healthy husband should retire early and not be active anymore. What medical sense does that make for my healthy "young" 62 yr old husband? We feel like he was told to just shut down and die because there is no hope. We are seeking advice elsewhere.
I would like to preface this review by saying I do not recommend professionals based solely on whether I like their personality. I also only comment in the event of what I consider a tremendous or horrible experience. In this event I can not praise Dr. Bernard enough. When I moved to the area and was unloading a moving truck I incurred a debilitating, excrutiating pain that left me only able to crawl and developed distal radicular symptoms. I went to numerous doctors in the area, and the ER 3 times over 2 months. I received no indication of what was the origin of my pain and I was truly disabled. I should note that I am a post-graduate spine specialist physical therapist. In 21 years I have never treated nor observed an injury such as mine. Finally a physician sent me to Dr.Bernard. He could tell the pain, frustration, and distress I was in. He immediately ordered the test that elucidated the origin of my problem. We scheduled surgery after discussing what was involved. He was very honest with me about what to expect. I wish I didn't experience the 1st week of post-op pain but I was not totally unprepared for it. From reviewing the literature on line regarding this injury and correction it became clear that it is a difficult surgery due to location and many surgeons won't operate because of this. I did not have that option unless I was ready for early retirement and disability. I am happy to say that because of meeting Dr. Bernard neither is the case. About 2 months post-op now and I am ready to attempt return to work. I owe Dr. Bernard an immense gratitude for his expertise and caring attitude. He had a passion for what he does and his outcomes and attitude show it. Never did I expect to find a doctor of his calibre in a relatively small area such as this. I have worked with many surgeons in my profession and I tell you in no uncertain terms that if I have to have any spinal issues addressed, Dr. Bernard is the 1st contact I am making.
DAVID W LACEY ,MD is the most respected dr. I have been to , he is kind, respectful and takes his time to explain to you about your condition. Bad, bad , bad care by Dr. Pollard. Unwilling to help because of anxiety disorder. Sent us to UVA for the most simple of all operations, a one level discectomy. Shame on you and your practice.
I was a patient of Dr Bernard’s in Bowling Green Ky. I Cannot recommend him highly enough. Great physician. I’m needing surgery again I’m just sick he’s no longer here. You’re very fortunate to have him in your area.
Dr. Bernard performed emergency spinal surgery on me late one weeknight. I was blessed with wonderful surgical and medical care.
