This is a nice looking store with nice quality merchandise, and prices are, for the most part, reasonable, with some exceptions on some corner cabinets and other primitive furniture pieces that clearly had been in her shop for a very long time. However, the owner could certainly use some refresher courses in customer service. She bragged about having been in the business for 38 years. I had selected several items I was interested in possibly purchasing that included 3 higher-end furniture pieces $900-1500 ea. and 3 higher dollar smalls. I asked if she had any wiggle room on a particular piece to begin the negotiations, and, rather than offer at least a customary 10% discount, her reply was, "It's worth more than it's priced at", then quietly asked her associate, "What's the price?". Since this was a fairly high profile piece in the front window, if it was under priced, it would have already sold. She then asked me, "What would you offer?" So I made a very reasonable wholesale offer of app. 30% off she knew I am a dealer with 25 years in the business. Her response was, "That's stupid!" I was completely shocked. Rather than a reply like, "Well, that's a little deeper discount than I'm comfortable with, but let's see what else you're interested in", or countering with a price that more suited her, she just called me stupid. I politely wished her a nice day and left. Her reply cost her at least $2500 in sales today. But she's so arrogant she'll likely never understand that not only did she lose this sale, she'll never get a referral from me to her shop. I have a lot of Arkansas customers that visit my shop about 2 hours away that always ask what other good antique stores they might shop. It's not difficult to be nice, or at least professional. And when you sell non-essentials for a living, you might want to make sure your customers know you appreciate them. I will never put my customers in the position to be treated like this. It left a bad taste in my and my wife's mouth about downtown Van Buren. Doubt we'll ever be back.
Would not recommend. They have AMAZING items, that is true, but the staff seems to be dishonest. I was in there shopping today and I found some old spools that would be great decoration. The basket said they were $2 a piece which worked for me. As I was walking to the other side of the store the lady at the register mentioned how pretty they were and I agreed. She said she believed they were $5 a piece. I told her I wasn't sure after all I could have read the tag wrong so I told her I would check. When I got back to the basket they were in I held it up and showed her that it said $2 each. I wasn't upset at all, I was smiling and all was good. After all, she can't be expected to remember all the prices in the store, there are too many wonderful items. Her response was along the lines of "I can't believe that, those are hard to find, they must not have meant to mark them that price". I asked her flat out how much they were: $2 or $5. She said that I could have the two that I had already picked up for $2 but the rest would be $5 a piece. I am not new to this, or stupid, she was trying to gouge me. The sad thing is that I was looking at a few more items slightly overpriced but pretty enough to make it worth it that I was getting ready to add to my pile but after this I couldn't get out of the store fast enough. That was enough to put a bad taste in my mouth. My advice: go a few doors down as there are several more antique stores with items just as wonderful and staff way more honest.
They have some beautiful items, but most of their items are severely overpriced for this area. There are lots of faded pricetags showing that these items have been sitting there for quite a while. There were also awkwardly piled items and boxes with items pouring out on the floor. It was also dead quiet in the building with no one else there other than someone behind the counter. Awkward.
They have some good finds. They seem pretty knowledgeable, as I've brought some stuff in the past. The store interior could use some renovating.
I could spend hours in this place and have! I love to walk around and look at all the items they have collected from times gone by, true antiques.
True antique/vintage owners have been in business 40 years
Pretty nice selection, decent prices too
Carl was a great host when we shopped here! They have a ton of cool finds and definitely enough for everyone to find something they like. We purchased a pretty cool platter to bring back home to FL and Carl specially wrapped it and boxed it up so it would make the trip!
Expensive compared to other Antique stores in the area.
They price items and when you go to pay for it and comment they should research such items because some are very expensive they then refuse to sell the item and lie and say someone else is coming to pick it up. This happened on April 9, 2018. Would not recommend shopping in this place. The 1 star is only because I had to pick a star to comment
