Formerly a Spires restaurant now the Golden west diner. The same great menu expanded with better preparation. Nice new decor and servers are friendly. I am returning.
Nice diner. Fast service, good food.
Waiters were very helpful, good was good... rice pudding mmm, delish!
Love the food here. I mean come on who doesn't like home style breakfast! Prices are just right and the portions are huge. The waitresses are super nice and always attentive to refills! Biscuits and gravy are delish and their omelets are big enough for 2people!
So this used to be a Spires, and if you check out your bank statement they still apparently go by Spires when you are billed, so don't be surprised. Specials were decent, food was okay. Not the best food in the world, but they got decent stuff and a fairly wide selection. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Parking was okay, location was cozy, and bathrooms were fine. Come here if there isn't something else you would rather have.
Step back time, this nostalgic restaurant features old school with fantastic service and food. You may think it looks old but that's just the charm of the place. Darlene is an amazing server, who is fast and efficient and extremely personable. This makes you want to come back again and again. The food prices are remarkable and it has the cheers feeling where everyone knows you.
It wasn't bad. Had a turkey melt sandwich, had a lot of turkey on it, and a surprise ingredient of Ortega chili. So the sandwich was okay I've had a lot better at other places cuz I'm a turkey melt girl !! They did have some great House made onion rings. My sister had bacon and eggs and she said it was fine. Place looks a little dated, but it was clean. Had a nice waitress.
We've been here several times and the food has been really good every time. The beef barley soup was divine. The portions are generous, service is exceptional and everybody is very friendly there. We will definitely be back.
Server was good. My friend ordered the breakfast skillet which came with a little piece of paper or plastic.. No sure what it was. The server offered to have a new one made. When it came back, it as the same food mixed round.. At least that's what it looked like. My friend believes he got food poisoning from it. I asked for crispy potatoes and didn't get them. The breakfast special was not so special...
We sat in the lounge and ordered from their dinner menu. Soft plush chairs were a welcome relief after walking all day in the park. Gentle classical music in the background and a reprieve from the crowds. The warm onion bread that comes with the meal is divine! The prices are high, but the food is fresh and delicious. We had fabulous service. Our experience was so good, we went back a second night during our week there first week of Jan.
