Our Retreat Center is committed to offering a safe and nurturing environment for guests of diverse religious and spiritual beliefs -- a place where people could re-charge by experiencing inner peace and tranquility.
The location of the future Retreat Center is in Belen, New Mexico at the edge of a giant mesa. The spectacular views of the Sierra Ladrone Mountains and Ladrone Peak make it magical. The land overlooks a protected green space and gorge where a stream flows during the spring season. There is nothing like it in this world. It is a place of mystical beauty.
The plans for the Retreat Center include a sustainable community, and at its hub will be a magnificent place of worship with conference and class rooms. The lodging will accommodate approximately 100 guests in a quiet/comfortable setting. The cafeteria will serve the freshest vegetarian meals. With respect to the buildings for the Retreat Center, the Spirit of the Lotus is researching eco friendly structures because of their many benefits including: use of environmentally friendly equipment and materials, energy savings, improved indoor air quality, preservation of natural habitats, and durability which leads to reduced maintenance and replacement costs.
We welcome donations in any amount to make the Retreat Center a reality. The Spirit of the Lotus is a church, and we are a non-profit corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The church is an important gathering place where we experience freedom and liberation through unification with Divine Spirit. The church services follow a format of: 1. chanting; 2. weekly reading; 3. discourse; and 4. meditation.

> House/Business Blessings: Rev. Tara has performed house/business blessings for over 25 years. This type of blessing is a ritual that clears the space of negative and stagnant energy. > Marriages: Rev. Tara has officiated at weddings for over 25 years. She meets with the couple several times before the ceremony, counseling and giving them an in-depth reading. > Funerals: For an ordained minister, it is a privilege and a responsibility to help those who are grieving and suffering the loss of a loved one. Death is a transition from the world of illusion to a world of reality which many call home. The purpose of a funeral is not only to comfort the grieving, but to celebrate and help the departed soul move from the lower realities to the higher realities, from the darkness into Light.
