Discovered Split Rail Eats while in town for a soccer tournament. We are glad that we did! It is a little confusing when you first arrive. Where you park is facing the rear of the restaurant, the front of the businesses are actually in the middle. Don't let that fool you, it's worth checking out. When we cut through the walkway, we were met by a nice outside area with live music. Upon entering it's a cozy nicely decorated space with a wide variety of seating areas. You order at the front counter and then they bring your food to you. There was a great selection of food and everyone in our family enjoyed their meals. They had a self-serve beer wall as well as a full bar. The staff was all super friendly. It is a great place to come as adults or with a family. We ate there twice while in town and plan on visiting again in the future.
My husband found this place away from the noise of the traffic of the car rally that must have been going on. Initially it looked like it was all apartments at the address of the restaurant. I was thinking we needed to go somewhere else. I'm so glad we found the sign that said restaurant. There was a steady flow of customers which the staff handled well. Large menu. Very good food. Our small furry babies were happy there was an outside where they could sit w us. Being a nurse i check closely for cleanliness. I give them an outstanding. Staff were eager to help in any way they could. Plan to go back. Great experience!
What a great find for lunch! Standard American food with easy counter order and wait staff delivered food. We were all eager to try the food, from picky children to vegetarian wife, there was something for everyone on the standard menu which made ordering easy. The staff was very friendly and helpful even when we made a mess. It also had a huge tap selection for those looking for a place to try the local beers. I recommend the cucumber salad, and we will definitely go again.
Really cool spot tucked away inside a condo/apartment complex. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and they had an excellent bar and draft wall where you pay per ounce and serve yourself any beer, cider, wine, sour you want on tap. They are dog friendly on the patio and there was lots of room to spread out. It was not too busy on a Friday lunch afternoon, but really clean and inviting inside and out.
The vegetarian options in this menu are what attracted us to visit Split Rail Eats. Even though we were staying in Downtown Gatlinburg and this restaurant was a bit far out, we decided to go visit and we loved everything we ate here and highly recommend it to everyone! The restaurant was almost closing when we reached but they accommodated our order and ensured we got everything that we needed. We tried the Taco tater bowl, fried cheese curds and the plant based burger. We really wish we could have tried the cocktails here, they looked so good! There is a big parking lot a little away from the restaurant. Vegetarian options: Several tasty vegetarian and plant based options are available!
My daughter’s wedding reception was held at Split Rail Eats in October 2022. Everything was perfect. John and his team were wonderful through planning the menus to the actual day of the event. They helped with details for the day and were so helpful and pleasant to work with. I can’t say enough good things about the level of service and tastiness of the food. I would not hesitate to hold another event in the future and will definitely be back to eat when we visit each year. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp just outside the entrance.
Great atmosphere coupled with delicious entrées made for an enjoyable dining experience. Philly Cheese Steak was made to perfection! The $1.25 upcharge for mushrooms and peppers caught me off guard, but other than that everything was reasonably priced.Food: 5/5
We went here for dinner when most of us weren't starving but needed to eat something. The restaurant itself was almost like a hole in the wall, if you weren't looking you'd miss it buy you'd miss out. The food was fantastic, nobody in the group I was with had any complaints about their food. I would happily eat here again on this trip or any trip to Gatlinburg. It also made our night that the server/person who took our order knew Pennsylvania and where my brother and sister in law went to college. One of my favorite meals so far!!
First time going here and it was a very nicely decorated restaurant with recent renovations. I'll do some pros and cons then get to what we ordered. Pros: -Nice atmosphere -Very clean -Friendly staff -Good food Cons: -Pretty pricey for what's being served -Mine, my wife's, and daughters fries were served cold -When we first came in there were no servers or attendants there to take our order and waited around a few minutes before anyone came out to take our orders I ordered the Pimento and cheese burger and it was very good. All premium toppings and came with fried pickles with the order, but for $19 it seemed a little steep and my fries came out cold. My wife ordered the chicken tenders and Fredo fries for a side and her Fredo fries came out cold as well. My daughter had the kids hot dog and fries and her fries were cold too. It was a great restaurant and not very packed, but to me $53 for a burger, kids hot dog and chicken tender meal it seemed quite steep. I understand things have gone up due to supply chain issues but it still seemed expensive. Kid-friendliness: Pretty kid friendly restaurant
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Split Rails Cafe, and I must say, the atmosphere is fantastic! The couches and fireplace create a cozy ambiance that makes it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. As for the food, I decided to try the American plate, which came with eggs, sausage, home fries, and homemade toast. Although it wasn't the best I've ever had, it was good enough. The French toast looked tempting, but I didn't have a chance to try it. However, I think it's worth noting that the prices for the food are a bit steep. I ended up spending $19 for breakfast with OJ and coffee. The food hovers between 3.5-4 stars. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, but I did encounter a few who were just okay. Despite this, I wouldn't rate Split Rails Cafe as a 5-star place for food, but I would give them a 5-star rating for its beautiful decor and cozy atmosphere. If you're looking for a charming spot off the beaten path to relax while grabbing a bite, this cafe is worth a visit. One star deduction for food quality and the attitude of some staff members, but this is not in reflection of the entire staff plus steeper than it should be food prices.
