It may be a dive bar, but the food is outstanding and with live music most nights you just cannot find a more fun place! The chicken tenders are breast meat which they bread themselves and are HUGE more like cutlets but fried perfectly. So juicy and delicious. Now on to the most important thing, their burgers. They are fresh hand made patties but the star is their homemade spice blend. Literally it is the best tasting spiced burger I have ever had the pleasure of eating. They must handle the burgers with the slightest of hands because they literally melt in your mouth. The burger spices are so good I just get mine with some cheese, my man likes bacon on his which is super thick and crispy. The onion rings are amazing, home made and not over battered and fried to perfection. Get yourself over there to try for yourself, you will not be disappointed!!!
I had a wonderful time last week singing karaoke and I hope to come back this evening really nice atmosphere drinks a very reasonably priced and the DJ is a very nice and so was the bartender. I recommend highly to check out this place for your night out of singing or to watch a live band.
The name has changed like 5 times in the past year, that should tell you something. They do have some good bands sometimes, but that is all. The drinks are way overprices and the food is inedible. The service is always horrible. I was checking out a band one time and had to drive so ordered a soda after a couple of beers and was charged $3 for a soda, are you kidding me? There are plenty of other places in Beverly, check those out first. Recently they have a hot dog stand outside, even those are over priced. Don't waste your time.
As a bartender at Spotlight Tavern for 4 months, as well as a patron during the several name/ownership changes since 2007, this has always been one of my favorite places. It has been Spotlight Tavern for two years, and since then has evolved and grown. Amazing live, local bands George Clinton and the PFunk Allstars played before I worked there, on not this past Valentines day- but of 2012, occasional hip hop nights and an Open Jam night. Also, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights or nights we predict to be busier-- Sports games, certain events, etc the second bar is open, so if you don't necessarily want to be in the room with the music, you have the option to sit at that bar. Additionally, one 'The Walking Dead' returns, we'll generally put in on if there isn't music that night-- if that's something you're in to! In the summer it's open during the day on Saturdays and Sundays with a 'make your own Bloody Mary' bar, as well as upcoming summertime cocktails made with ingredients from the local farmers market. Upgrades have also been made to the deck and there is enough space to play beer pong or corn hole in the summertime. A few months ago we also got our kitchen up and running, which as of now is mostly signature burgers and apps the best hand breaded chicken fingers I've had, and they're looking to extend the menu to include wraps and some healthier options. Just so I'm not completely biased, I would say the toilets can be a pain in the butt. It's an old building so I find myself fixing them, but we do what we can and keep the bathrooms as clean as we can. Also, the sign keeps falling off the front, but it's #208 directly across from the Ford dealership. The most expensive drink is 8$ as of June 2013, excluding the Farmers Market cocktails which, I believe, can go for 9$ due to the cost of ingredients but they're really good. Soda is only 1$ so I'm not sure who charged the other person that reviewed 3$. The burgers are all 8$ and 9$ and come with a choice of onion rings, tots or french fries. If you want to know what the entertainment is for the evening, call the bar or check their FB page. Hope this was helpful!
