I would say that if you were staying for a single night only - it's just ok, and if it's your last resort for place to stay, it's fine. There were a lot of bugs in the room, the carpet was stained, the room smelled REALLY musty - to the point where we all smelled musty as well. The beds were fine, the sheets smelled clean. The area seemed safe enough. I would keep looking if you are going to be in the area for more than one night. We didn't use the pool - we were going to the beach, so I can't comment on that feature.
I wanted to thank Nasry, the wonderful owner of this property for an amazing and unforgettable stay. What we thought is going to be a 'one-night stand' ended up being a full three day affair. Oh man...and did we fall in love... My wife and I were travelling from Philly to Hartford, Boston, and then Hyannis and P-town. On the way back from the "d" in the "Cod", right around 12:45am, we rang Nasry's phone in the last desperate breath, trying to secure a night in a bed, and not inside our car. We woke him up, but even so, when we arrived, he personally showed us two rooms to choose from, installed an A/C unit because the built-in one just stopped working that week and also offered a late checkout since we were not going to get a full night for our money. I've never experienced anything like this, even at the Peabody, Hiltons and Marriotts of the world, or even at the Plaza. I know they do it...it just never happened to me. What's more important though; you would expect that from a $300-$500/night hotel, but not from a 'lodge' owner, right? The property isn't new and could use a better Wi-Fi and updated outlets for all the modern electronics that need juicing-up. Other than that, the furniture is nice, the bathroom is clean, the bed is comfortable not the Tempur-Pedic at my house, but oh well... and the facilities include an amazing truly, serene heated outdoor pool set in a wonderful wooded area, right next to lighted tennis courts. I have to mention the staff, because they were amazing, too. Anna, Nick and Pavo are quite something. Ask Anna if you need anything in the room, Nick stepped away from his work just to provide a good, local advise on what to do, see and where to eat...and Pavo...well, he is just plain cute. This gianormous Giant Pyrenees is friendly, attentive guardian of the whole flock. I can't finish this without mentioning Nasry again. If you want, you can have a conversation about politics, poetry, art or just the local specialties in the little Greek breakfast place around the corner. Ultimately, Nasry is the kindest of kind people and wants you to feel at home. Not LIKE at home...but RIGHT AT HOME. And you will. Thank you, and we hope to see you again very soon! Peter & Livia PS: Don't believe the bad reviews around the Internet. I don't know what these people were looking for, or why they judge the owner's body odor in their rating of the room, or stay as a whole... At the end, the majority of TripAdvisor and other reviewers are like me and my wife: amazed by the hospitality and kindness of this true gentleman, who will do anything in his power to make your stay an unforgettable one.
