Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is a true gem nestled at the base of the the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, providing some pretty amazing views. Steeped in history, this expansive 520-acre park was once the ranch of the legendary Howard Hughes. The park offers a plethora of activities for visitors of all ages. From hiking the scenic trails to exploring the historic house, there's something for everyone. One of the highlights for me was the serene lake and spring – a perfect spot for reflection and relaxation. I was particularly drawn to the hiking trails, and while I managed to explore a few, I'm eager to return in the cooler months to traverse them all. The park's beauty is truly unparalleled, and the opportunity to step into the house and get a glimpse of its storied past was a unique experience. I highly recommend a visit to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Whether you're a history buff, an avid hiker, or just looking for a tranquil escape, this park has it all.
A favorite park for the family with easy trails & open green space for picnics. It's just a calm, slow paced vibe here. I love the wild Burros, but I've also seen a coyote, hares, lizards, & tons of tiny toads. They also have yoga sometimes, guided hike adventures, & host super summer theater outdoor plays. I just keep coming back! Abundant, nice restrooms for a park too, plus a historical home to tour.
Stunning views! If you're in Red Rock make sure you stop by. Friendly staff. Very informative. There's a natural aquifer there so the burros are always there. They come down to have their babies where it's safer and there's plenty of grass and water available. The babies are adorable! And during the summer there's the live theater that's fantastic! Restrooms: Very clean bathrooms. Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leashes in the park. Service dogs only at the theater. Picnic area: Beautiful day use areas! Shaded. Ample parking as well.
Beautiful ranch with gift store and few hiking trails to explore. Great place to walk around, have a picnic and let the little ones roam around. There is a fee to get in but if you want to experience something totally not a Vegas vibe or different from city parks this will be it. Bring a picnic blanket, read a book and enjoy the quiet of nature.
The parking lot for the ranch is a good size. There is an entrance fee of $10 per vehicle. There is a good size, grassy picnic area with several large trees. The public restroom is located in picnic area. There is a walking trail that leads to a nice size pond. A guided tour is possible to see a cabin and smith shop. The main ranch house is the visitor center with gift shop .
Awesome lil park with a nice hike around the lake and back to the canyon edge. Fantastic amount of biodiversity including the habitat of an endangered species of fish. Can view the burrows from the parking lot.
I love this place we got to walk around in nature and tour the ranch inside and outside the ranch house. It was beautiful and the people their were very informative of the history of the place. It was wonderful seeing what it would be like living in a ranch. Definitely will visit again. Picnic area: Very open got to see animals up close. Pls don't leave your trash
We had an amazing time. Didn’t get to walk all of their trails we only saw a few due to them closing soon by the time we got there. But saw some pretty incredible views! And the staff were all very friendly and helpful! 100% worth the short drive from the strip to check it out!
This was a beautiful area to explore. The only set back was I paid $10 entry fee only to find out everything was closed. You literally could only park and walk in a small park with picnic benches. I don't recommend visiting until everything gets opened back up. Flash flood did some damage in this area.
We went to Super Summer Theater to see Rodgers & Hammerstein Cinderella. Wow! They were incredible, the park was beautiful and the refreshments were affordable. Great family experience!
