Springbrook’s Partial Hospitalization Program is a treatment option for patients who do not require the intensity of inpatient hospitalization, but require more than the traditional outpatient therapy and medication management.



"Springbrook Hospital, located in Hernando County, offers 24-hour psychiatric services provided by licensed professionals in various disciplines. Springbrook Hospital is a Baker Act receiving facility. The hospital is licensed by the Florida Department of Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. Our hospital offers a variety of programs that can be tailored to patient needs— including an older adult program, dual diagnosis treatment, general psychiatric care, partial hospitalization and an intensive outpatient program. This place is terrible and should be shutdown. This place is very understaffed and no one to talk to except the Dr and only spends a couple minutes to decide how long you stay. When you go in with serious mental health problems, there should be someone to talk too. My experience was horrific and did not help me in anyway. I was restrained twice from one large woman, and couldn't breathe and feared for my life. If there was some real help there, that wouldn't of happened. The place is disgusting as far as cleanliness, dirty , showers don't work or they leak. Beds with a 3or 4 inch mattress to sleep on. It's taken me awhile to write this review due to trauma from this place. I do hope this place is looked into, it was a terrible place to go for mental health issues.
I went there back in September of 2022. It was a okay experience. I was the only 18 year old there. The nurses were cool to me. I think because I didn’t act like the others. But yeah it was cool. I had a crush on one of the nurses. Review by: Dominic Owens
Would give negative stars if possible. Had a family member sent there and it was filthy and understaffed. There was no night nurse so all the patients were neglected for hours. She was then put into a large coed area with men in the rooms next to her. There are no locks on doors and only a curtain for a bathroom door. You have 50+ coed patients mingling about with maybe 5 staff members to watch them all. If you can avoid this facility and research ones that actually help people.
This place has made people worse. I watched people go from normal to losing their mind due to how the staff and doctors treat them. Some people need to stay and need the help, but others should have proper treatment plans and release dates. I heard stories that people will sign their discharges and still not be released by patients and staff. I heard stories that people with no insurance who need the help get released early by staff. I was lied to 4 times by my doctor about my release date, treatment plans, and I never saw my doctor for more than 5 minutes. I requested a different doctor and he’d never sign off on that when he didn’t have my best interests at heart. You can watch the news or do nothing as they have no therapy groups or behavioral therapy. I smoked a bunch of cigarettes for 20 years old because I was so stressed here. They had black mold and 3 people with Covid in my unit. They took my job insurance card out of my wallet without my consent and wouldn’t let me use the insurance I wanted to use. Pray you don’t get Dr. Hassan, he loves to keep people for his own benefit. I would have gotten out faster with any other doctor. I even had the staff tell me I didn’t belong there as I watched a majority of them treat people like garbage. This place will ruin you or your loved ones if you let it. I got told I’d leave in 3 days and got kept for a week.
This place is a joke. No help what so ever. You just sit there all day no groups or counceling. It's a babysitter not a place to get help. It's so dirty there's a room closed because of black mold. Patients are sick coughing I am now sick from being in there. My shower had bugs in it they don't have sanitizer only smell good cleaner. It smells horrible. The nurses make fun of the patients. I went there to get help and came out worse then when I went in. This place needs to be closed down.
I was there back in august I believe. When they took me to my room, they flip the mattress over, I never seen anybody come in sanitize the mattresses down, clean the floors or the rooms. somebody came in and tossed clothes onto the bed for me to put on. I wore the same clothes for four days before I could get a change of clothes. My dad brought to me, I did not even know I had close there until I talk to my dad on the phone a couple of hours later. For one discharge for the day which was myself it took them almost 5 hours to release me when it was time for me to go home. The medical staff looks at you and ignores you. People at hospice that are dying Get better treatment than they do at Springbrook. The worse CNA I seen there was Eric, he came across as arrogant, I think the best CNA i seen there was Amanda. If it wasn’t for the RN Tim I don’t think I would’ve made it through the week there. Dr. Jackie was great too. One of my roommates was snorting drugs in the room. If it takes a month for medicine to get into your system to start working right how do they know you’re on the right medicine when they send you out of there within seven day? I had a visitor that came and seen me and they said it was worse than going to see someone in jail.
I had a wonderful experience throughout my recovery at this place! I can remember how comfortable I felt from having nurses like Donna made me feel during my tougher moments there. And on my way back home, my driver Ernie let me play my favorite songs, on repeat! All in all, My experience there was great. My recovery was a Success!
Worst Experience of my life was illegally held here for a week on a voluntary status, was constantly lied too by staff and case managers, illegally given medication without signing off. Admission room floors stained yellow with urine, supplied me anti depressants after requesting I didn’t want to take any telling me they were “sleeping medication” Was also given the wrong medication multiple times. Wrongfully Kept me in the 65 year old + unit when I’m 20 years old Wish I could give 0 stars would rather walk through hell there is no treatment plan. The treatment plan is turning you into a mindless zombie and holding you as long as possible if you have good insurance
Update: November 7th After my young adult child left this place it bothered me how she was mistreated for some time. I filed a complaint with the governors office so an investigation can be opened with DCF. This place has 1.3 stars for a reason. This is the very reason why mental health patients aren’t asking for help. They’re afraid to go into a facility due to the lack of the care that these places show. The NP was unfair and definitely abused her power. Ridiculous stay away and if your family member gets placed here get an attorney and have them removed elsewhere fast . Plus my daughter came out of that place sick for two weeks. She said it was dirty and sometimes she wasn’t even allowed to shower. I have doctor reports and med records for proof that it was two weeks she was sick after leaving. If I can give this place zero stars I would. My nineteen year old has been in this facility for a week. The nurse practitioner refuses to release her. She hasn’t been under a baker act but ONLY as volunteer. She’s being held against her will. Everyone that I ask to speak with seems to always be in meetings or they just left for the day. Today is 9/28/2023 and I’ve been sitting in waiting area for two hours speaking with the director of nursing and still NOTHING has been resolved. The nurse practitioner Lillian has stated because of my child’s past being in and out of the hospitals she deserves stay longer. Now they want to experiment on a new medication just to keep her. If she refuses the meds that will just make things worse but they say she has rights because the NP will keep her longer like she’s a prisoner. This place is breaking the laws. I pray someone from administration or corporate reads this. Mr. Stan Anderson if you’re reading this please can you have someone from your office reach out to me for help?
DO NOT send your loved on to this hospital. They do not communicate with family at all. I must have left 6 voicemails without any call back. The psychiatrist finally called me back the day before he was released and told me she THOUGHT my son was bipolar and only met him once. They were nasty when I spoke to the nurse in his unit and kept telling me to call back and never answered any of my questions. I heard from my son it was dirty and he didn’t shower in 4 days there. These are patients that need help and it seemed to me that the people that work there including the front desk needed more help then the patients. Please read the reviews! They seem to be very similar experience. They really need to shut this place down. SpringBrook DO NOT respond to this cause I have seen your responses and they are all the same. Instead of apologizing DO SOMETHING!!
