Attended the cemetery walk today, not my first cemetery walk but my first at Springdale. It was very well done, excellent actors and well chosen figures. I enjoyed it very much and will attend the walk next year for sure. Thank you!
Springdale cemetery is my favorite cemetery. Sometimes when I visit and gaze over the magnificent area, I'm awe-struck by the number of souls who have walked this place before me. Sometimes when I visit, I'm confronted by a dog who wants my lunch and when given it, becomes my friend for life. And sometimes when I visit, I feel like I'm apartment hunting.
I'm only giving this cemetary 2 stars because of a few reasons. 1. Half of the grave stones you can't even see! They are all covered up with overgrown grass! Every other cemetary I have gone to weedeats around the stones. It's sad that half of these people who passed aways stones are not visible anymore. We have to dig out my grandparents stone out every time we go. 2. When they cut grass they just ride right over the stones not taking care of the vases. My grandparents vase WAS attached by a chain but got ran over from the lawnmower it seems and broke it off!! 3. When they bury new people they just run right over the other people stones! Someone new got buried next to my grandparents and they just ran the equipment right over his stone BREAKING the marble under it!!! 4. They are in the process of cutting down some trees in the cemetary. While they are not currently working the keep the equipment on top of others tombstones! Also the cut wood is also on top of others stones as well! All in all this cemetary needs a little bit more respect for the dead. Tombstones are expensive, we pay for them, the plot, and the marble that goes under the stone. I expect them to at least upkeep it to where the stones are visible and not trash them by running heavy machinery over the top of them!
Big place.Nice place for a quiet walk. When my hubby and I were there for a walk, there were a few bicyclists riding their bikes.
Very well kept up and tons of scenery with a beautiful mausoleum!
Great place for a walk or run through it's wonderful scenery. Be sure to check out the monument at the center of the cemetery. There is not a ton of vehicle traffic so you don't have to dodge cars all the time while taking a nice calm stroll.
Amazing cemetery, full of history, lore and gorgeous monuments. Great place for a walk, especially with little ones who don’t understand traffic. If I have a gravestone, I want it here.
Is it weird to say a cemetery is beautiful? It's a historic cemetery. Lots of locals go for walks, runs and bike rides through the winding roads.
Beautiful grounds, views, and trails.
Could spend hours in this sacred grounds.
