Springs Brook Park is truly a summer time gem. All the reviews saying how expensive it is, must not have seen the $2k+ price tags on gym pools and other summer clubs charge for a same length season, with way less stuff. There is so much here for kids to do; this is our 4th year 2019, 2021, 2022 and now 2023 and we absolutely love it. Shady area, huge splash pad, sandy beach, dock with a deeper area for jumping. There are a ton of lifeguards that rotate very frequently, and the management is friendly and helpful. We come to SBP from out of town, and recommend it to everyone. Plus it’s never that crowded; there’s ample parking and clean bathrooms. You’ll find me there most summer days!
Note to the general public: This place is NOT open to the public. You MUST be either a member of the park or a Bedford resident. The chain locked metal gate that blocks the entrance to the park will be a rude awakening to those who made the trip out here. If the park is for locals and paying individuals I am okay with that. I just wish that information was more readily available without making a trip to the park.
I USED to enjoy this place as a child and have fond memories with my parents growing up , 10 years ago also great experience with my daughter . Now the place is all about $$$ just like everywhere else , no longer nostalgic or family friendly in my opinion, waaaaay overpriced , absolutely ridiculous!!!! I'll make new memories elsewhere with my family without paying over $500 , like seriously?!
Clean, big, but not too big! We arrive at 10:30, when the parking lot isn't at full capacity yet. We pack a picnic lunch, but you can buy lunch there. There's beach around the whole man-made pool. Most of the pool is 2 feet, perfect for 1-2 year olds. There's a slide but you must be either 9 years old or have a life jacket that must be "coast guard approved. The slide can be intimidating for some kids. Besides the pool there is an awesome water park where many of the young children hang out at. Next to that is a park with swings. This place is the kind of place where if you say you went there your friend most likely will say "LOVE that place!!" It's especially great if you get a group of 20 or more to go to get a discount!
Such a disappointment that you can't visit now as a non resident without a membership. Family membership is almost $500 which is absoutely insane! I've been a ton as a kid myself, and went once with my own son before you needed a membership. We LOVED it, I wanted to go again the next summer and when I checked online the admission rules were all changed. I get that the water was bad because of crowding etc etc but the family pass is unafforadble. Or you can get a "limited" family pass for a little less but then it's only weekdays after 4pm and weekends. During the summer when the kids are home all day who wants to go after 4pm only?? Such a shame. They could have at LEAST made the full day family membership 200-300 for non members which I would find reasonable. Who is going to pay $500 bucks for a few short summer months at spring brook park, when you will probably go, what? 10 times TOPS? So irritating. Maybe if you are a family of 5 or 6 I could see that price point but we have 1 kid. We're a family of 3, they should price it based on how many "members" you're signing up... Since over crowding seems to be their main point as to why they changed things.
Response to non-Bedford visitors. The place was losing money year after year. The overcrowding added to the already bad water conditions. Water conditions were so bad that the park had to close many days at a time until safe. As a way to stem this, cutting down on visitors was a step. Also, there were a number of other safety issues. People were drinking and some aggressive behaviors were reported in the past few years. This is a family place, one insured and maintained largely by Bedford residents dollars. I say get a membership and visit as often as you want. Otherwise, please realize that there were many factors that played into this solution.
Experience was excellent back when we could go ON WEEKENDS.. I'm not a Bedford resident so I paid $10 cover charge each for me and my family so that's $40 and I was fine with that.. Now I went last Friday and I was told we can't go in cause we not Bedford resident or member whatever that ment member to what and that was Over $200 to become a member thats NOT worth it.. I use to go twice a year and that's it. Shame on them..
Many great memories, going back to 5 generations! Now you have to pay a ridiculous member fee. Very disappointing.
I have been going there since middle school it's absolutely crazy that if your not a Bedford residentWHICH I'VE NEVER EVER BEEN you can't go ENJOY the place.... I'm a single mom and tried to go today with my 4 year old for literally less than 2 hours and was told i could buy a membership for my 2 person family it will cost $275.00 or for an idv. $110 but then my 4yo daughter can't go... My $$ upgraded that place for years and years and now watching my sweating hot upset child....SHAME ON YOU BEDFORD ....SO MUCH FOR THAT LOCAL INEXPENSIVE PLACE FAMILY FUN IN THE HOT SUMMER...SMH
It was pretty, fun and relaxing. They have a beatiful lake, a fun waterpark were you could hang out and a fun playground. You get to see the forest, run around the lake and see tons of planes. i've been there like 4 times
