We are Jessica and Kenyan Martin, sisters-in-law with a passion for creativity, our families, and Jesus. We have put a lot of thought and love into every piece that we make for Sprouted Acorn, and we hope to bring some of that love into your lives. How we came up with our name:
We wanted a name that was unique and inspirational. How is Sprouted Acorn inspirational you ask? Well, an oak tree starts out as a tiny acorn, that when nurtured, sprouts and grows into something so beautiful and amazing. That is what is happening in our lives right now. Sprouted Acorn started out as a tiny idea that is sprouting into something amazing. We are investing a lot of love and energy, hoping that one day our little business will grow!
Sprouted Acorn also symbolizes the littles in your life! They start as wee ones and grow a little everyday thanks to your love, energy, and tireless commitment. Growing tiny humans is hard work, but dressing them should be fun. We hope our designs inspire giggles, cuddles, and lots of photo ops.
A little bit about us:
Jessica married her handsome husband Daniel back in 2015 and they recently moved to the Bay Area to be closer to family. He has always supported her many crafting hobbies (even when they started taking over all his office space!) and her dreams to someday make them into a full time business. She got most of her talent from her beautiful grandmothers but has also enjoyed teaching herself new skills over time.
Kenyan has been happily married to her husband William since 2009. Kenyan and William lost their first daughter, Leah, in the 5th month of pregnancy in 2014. They welcomed their second daughter Genevieve into the world in 2015. Kenyan left her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist to stay home with Baby G, and she has been inspired by her adventures in motherhood when designing memorable and fun clothing for Sprouted Acorn.
