The National Guard is the 1st service to be formed here. We are a reserve component of the army. So you will be serving close to home only one weekend a month. We will pay 100% of you college tuition to any state funded school. While you are in school and drilling only two days a month you will be making over $567. You will do fun and exciting things. During peacetime each state National Guard answers to leadership in the 50 states, three territories and the District of Columbia. During national emergencies, however, the President reserves the right to mobilize the National Guard, putting them in federal duty status.
