St. Alban's Episcopal Church
St. Alban’s Episcopal Church was founded on November 10, 1974, by nineteen families who met in the Lexington Elementary School Auditorium under the clergy leadership of the Rev. George B. Salley, Jr. After meeting in several different rented locations, a 5 acre plot was purchased on Park Road and the first service was held in a renovated farm house (our present Parish House) on December 14, 1975.
The present sanctuary was consecrated on June 12, 1977. St. Alban’s was admitted to parish status at the 1984 Diocesan Convention. On May 10, 1987, the second part of the complex, the St. Alban’s Cemetery was consecrated and the brick wall at the entrance dedicated.
In 1998 a fellowship hall, kitchen, choir room, sacristy and classrooms were added to the sanctuary and dedicated in December of that year. An outdoor playground area was completed in 2005.
God has truly blessed St. Alban’s and continues to provide faithful, devoted, committed and loving servants of the Lord.
