You are God’s beloved child, beautifully created in God’s own image. Whoever you are, whatever your history, wherever you are in life’s journey, The Episcopal Church welcomes you.
St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church is a mission congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah. Sitting at the foot of the western slope of the Oquirrh Mountains, just 27 miles from downtown Salt Lake City, St. Barnabas’ serves the communities of Tooele, Grantsville, Erda, Stockton, Lake Point, and Stansbury Park in the Tooele Valley. Founded in 1963, the congregation began with 12 families meeting at various locations: The Moose Lodge, The Smelter Men’s Hall, and the fellowship hall of the Roman Catholic parish. A permanent home was established on Christmas Eve, 1968 when 57 persons gathered for services at 286 North Seventh Street at the former Army chapel recently moved from Dugway Proving Grounds. The present facility located on three acres at 1784 North Aaron Drive in the Overlake neighborhood was purchased and built with monies from the diocese’s Jubilee Fund in 2004. The first service in the new worship space was held on the Last Sunday after the Epiphany, 2005.
We joyfully welcome all to a Christian community that honors tradition and explores the future through lifelong learning and spiritual growth.
Service of Word, Prayer, and Sacrament, Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
