The St. John's Lodge No. 1 Foundation, Inc. helps raise funds to restore and conserve a priceless treasurer of American history - the George Washington Inaugural Bible. Since 1770, the Bible has belonged to St. John's Lodge No. 1 in New York City and the Foundation was created to help restore this artifact so that new generations of visitors can view it.
The St. John’s Lodge No. 1 Foundation, Inc. is a corporation formed as a 501c3 under Section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.
The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes to aid and assist in the maintenance, preservation, and care of the George Washington Inaugural Bible as owned by St. John’s Lodge No. 1 A.Y.M. of New York and facilitating its display to the public, to promote the history of St. John’s Lodge No. 1 AYM and promote historical education.
