I was a patient here and the staff are really nice but when it comes to the building itself it’s very old has carpet everywhere and it smells to be very honest . Only 1 shower room for all of the patients to shower in it didn’t seem like the whole building was being cleaned 24/7 like I’ve seen Sierra vista being cleaned all the time . The rooms are small and their was no groups or daily activities to be included in : I was only there for about 3 days but the building definitely needs remodeling and shower room in every room like other psychiatric hospitals have
I’ve been here twice. It’s been 4 months and I still reminisce on my time spent here. I’ve been to a psych ward in Sacramento and it is nothing compared to this one. The staff here for the most part generally cares for the patients. Thank you to all of the employees who helped me especially the chefs cuz the food was great and Bradley.
This facility should be closed down or someone needs to go in and fire all employees and rebuild it into the kind of facility that WANTS TO TREAT MENTAL HEALTH PATIENTS WHO ARE ALREADY STRUGGLING. Instead the people working here make things far worse. They aren't "helping" anyone. The staff is completely rude, abusive and they basically bully patients. Patients that arrive at this supposed "mental health facility" need calm, caring, and competent professionals. THIS IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND THE INDIVIDUALS WORKING HERE ARE GETTING PAID TO FURTHER MISTREAT PEOPLE THAT NEED HELP. SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR THIS TO BE THE CASE!
Have been sent here twice, both times the staff have been every respectful. They were very aware of how I was feeling. They checked in with me. When I was placed in a less then desirable unit they made sure I felt safe and secure. They also moved me as soon as a bed as available in the other unit. No, this isn't where I want to be and yes, place is my first choice if I ever need them again. Thank you for all you do.
This facility deserves a class action lawsuit, based on my own experiences and the other reviews I've been reading. They discharged my friend who is gravely disabled, and sent him in a taxi to a homeless shelter that didn't even have a bed available. He doesn't have ID, a jacket, a single penny to his name, and no place to stay. It is one of apparently many examples of flagrant negligence by case management, along with the entire staff. Absolutely inexcusable, irresponsible patient care.
I love this place. I actually miss it. U see not everyone is doing well, and I don't care if your a mental patient, a drug addict, a alcoholic, or u had a nervous breakdown, it's the best place to be and safe. I have a friend that I want to go there, I'm praying for him. His family would love it. I've known this place for years. And the people that work there still. It's sad to hear about people that had a bad experience,. God knows I've had many but it was because of them. I went for a reason. I have left on my own and left when I finished my time there. So God bless the staff I know, and always thinking of you.
This place is a freaking joke. If your family member needs help stay away from this facility they don't give a hot damn. Releasing people who are a serious danger to themselves and others. Even if you call every day the rude nurses won't let you speak to the actual doctors if there even is any and not even about progress in the patient but what actually happens on a day to day outside of mental help. They don't listen to a damn thing. An even if you tell them said person has no home to come back to they go ahead and drop them off on your door step anyways. So here we are again dealing with a crazy mentally unstable person after only 3 days of treatment screaming at the top of her lungs, getting physical, throwing things around and at people, calling and making false police reports that don't even make sense. But she is all better right, she's made major improvement right. Not sure why this facility is even being ran you do nothing this place must be like a vacay spot.
What a sad, pathetic environment for anyone suffering behavioral/mental health concerns. The front office girls didn’t even look up at us, the waiting room with dingy flickering lights, overflowing garbage and water container empty. Dr comes to get us, with a blank piece of paper, no questionnaire to fill out, didn’t review any concerns. Within two minutes diagnose my son with ‘anxiety and depression’. Wanted to do one on one counseling with him. My mother instincts told me this guy would probably molest my child! Hell no! I will not be going back. This was seriously one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and socialized healthcare! I couldn’t get out of the building fast enough!Sad.
Great staff! The people were nice and very understanding. I only stayed there for 3 days total because I was under 5150 hold..I may go back since I felt that 72 hours weren't enough for me.
Mother was taken here by police at 2:00 PM on a Saturday after her dementia and behavioral disturbance was too difficult for me to handle. The police recommended a 72 hr hold time. However, at 8:00 PM a social worker called my house to say my mother was being discharged. I told them I could not pick her up until the next day as I am unable to drive and in her condition was a threat to herself and me. Went to bed and disconnected my phone so I could get some sleep. At 2:00 AM on Sunday, the police rang my doorbell continuously to wake me up. I answered the door and they said I had to go pick up my mother. I said I couldn't do it until later in the day when a neighbor could drive me to the hospital. The police left but returned at 5:00 AM with my mother. She had obviously been drugged and could barely walk. The police just left her on my doorstep and drove away. Tried to get her into bed but she fell and hit her head on nightstand. I had to call for an ambulance since I could not pick her up. This was about 5 minutes after the police had just dropped her off. I consider this to be patient dumping and other people should consider using another hospital!
