This historic stunning church was a highlight of my Frankenmuth trip. We stopped in right after the Sunday service because I love stained glass and historic places of worship. There was a man who was giving a presentation to some other visitors about the stained glass, and explained the incredible art to us, he was so knowledgeable and friendly. They did not make us feel unwelcome despite us being out of towners. I'd recommend the church and it's gorgeous grounds to any lover of history and religious art. What a beautiful sanctuary.
We took a free tour here. Basically press a call button to be let in. We didn't find the flyer about church history that someone else referred to. And I'm a little jealous of the person who said someone was practicing the organ. I'm a pipe organ fanatic, and this would be a great one to hear. The building is beautiful. However, it is evident that its primary use is worship, not being a history museum. For that, I'm thankful.
Very informative Guided tour with Kathy. The beauty of this church with such rich history of Frankenmuth is wonderful. Finally got to make this part of our trip.
Only one word describes this church WOW just beautiful. Self guided tours start at the side door
We walked through a self guided tour. The stained glass windows are amazing. Make sure to pick up a flyer to learn the history of this Church and Frankenmuth.
Visited with friends several times and the services are always great. Haven't had a chance to speak with any members but in passing everyone seems very friendly. Sermons are interesting, meaningful, and educational. Great experience all around.
This church is beautiful. It's open for self-guided tours during the week. The church has some really great stained glass windows.
Huge church. Absolutely beautiful. Attended on Easter Sunday. Church was filled yesterday able to easily park and seating. Pastor very enjoyable. Stunning church and 1st class choir. Highly recommend.
Stunningly beautiful church! Sanctuary is an eyeful of beauty and dazzling color. The mural of the Christ on the ceiling is stunning. The stained glass windows have no parallel to any other church I have visited. As a Lutheran pastor, I dream of having the blessed opportunity to preach God's Word from the elevated pulpit at St. Lorenz. Pastors are outfitted with a parachute before ascending to the pulpit!! Just kidding. But the pulpit is quite elevated and again, stunning. Very nice gift shop is found in the basement area. Acoustics are exemplary.
This is a very Beautiful Lutheran Church near Frankenmuth Mi I attended a Wedding, they also do a Sermon in German every 2 weeks it's on the the to do list!!
